  1. nice deal on these...im not quite ready to do this but soon enough, maybe your next set...by the way has anyone ever tried swapping out the s60r front spindles for the 850s to make these fronts bolt up? i know on VW's, its my background with BBK, often times this is possible. just trying to help the sale in case someone feels adventerous and wants to try fitting them...
  2. so do you have a link for brake upgrades using stock s60r parts? i was wondering if they bolted up to the 850 series cars or not.... nice looking calipers either way, rick
  3. low 13's sounds good but why do you say only pay once? cant the 5 speed be done and then do the turbo later? i dont like putting too many new things on at once. kind of put the 5 speed on, make sure things are kosher with the swap then go back to turbo upgrades once you know how the 5 speed is doing? ill search some more but for my purposes i have the answer, get a 19t and a few more things and call it a day.
  4. this sounds like an easy upgrade then. it might not be 300 whp exactly but its close enough considering the lack of effort it would need(even if only 280 whp). im sure the MT would hold up fine under these conditions and you could probably use the stock t5r clutch. its not a ton of power but its a decent amount, enough to hang out with the sti guys and maybe a little better. also, im sure you could do all of this for under say 3K? even at $900 for the turbo, $600 for the 3"P and another $500 for the hard piping and silicone tubing and then another $800 in a chip. is this a reasonable price brakcet to assume on this upgrade? to do anything more than that with internals and then making the 5 speed stronger seems like a lot of wasted money IMO. anything else i should know or do i have the basic concept down? thanks, rick
  5. i said 300 - 350 whp....so if i understand correctly, a 19t turbo could get me to 300 whp? would i need to upgrade internals then? and when we say stock tranny are we talking about the auto or the 5 speed that gets swapped in since thats the plan? if i can get close to 300 whp with a simple project that sounds like a better way to go. so with the 19t, a 3" down pipe, maybe a full 3" exhaust and hard boost tubes i could se or come close to my goasl relatively easily? this sounds like it might be what you all are saying. so then my final question is who does the tuning for this setup, upsolute? as in can i just get another chip or do i need something more than a chip? i dont need to be crazy if half the work and money comes close enough....i know this stuff has been covered but the search function is not so easy on this site IMO thus far. im sure ill get better at it down the road. oh and a brake upgrade ive read the s70 12" is a cheap and easy upgrade. i doubt ill need way more than that in the brakes dept. and id probably do coils one day....one day being this summer....
  6. so ive searched but im not having much luck. i looked at the sticky's at the top of the noob section but didnt really find anything so helpful. what im wondering is what order is ideal to upgrades. i already have the ipd exhaust, upsolute chip, drop in filter and the engine mount, im sure this was a package kit from somewhere, ipd maybe? i know you all know what im talking about. so what upgrades should be next on the list. i keep hearing about rods going. so at what point do they need to be done? also id like to do a turbo upgrade but i was seeing piping upgrades and samco type hoses and then injectors etc. so between what i have now and a turbo upgrade should i upgrade the piping, the intercooler, when i do a turbo say a 19t i know i need a new down pipe but at the same time do i need injectors? who makes a tune with this turbo setup that i can just call up and get the right tune? upsolute again? i want to wait until i have a 5 speed on the car before i do the turbo and id like to get everything setup to make the as ready for a new turbo as possible so whats the order this should be done? thanks for the time in advance. im sure this is covered somewhere on this site but its bit like a needle in hay stack to me right now. all this is on an 850 t5r and im not new to FI, just volvos. oh and i plan on driving this daily but would like to see atleast 300-350 whp and keep as much volvo engine managment as possible, aka no standalone....also, i know this work takes time and money no need to cover that just trying to get pointed in the right direction here. -rick
