Why don't battery powered cars make sense? The tesla roadster mentioned above can drive 200 miles on a charge, wait 5 years that will certainly be higher if money is put into li-ion or li-ion polymers. An electric car is much simpler than an ICE vehicle, won't pollute nearly as much greenhouse gases even when charged with coal powered plants. The distribution system is already in place, and underutilized at night. With that being said, how many of the 50km a year are under 200 miles round trip? The largest obstacle with todays electrics is the battery, but if more money is put into R&D it will certainly get more capacity per volume and weight. Oh and Charles, why can't we recycle the batteries?

I really don't think Bush can be blamed for not stopping 9-11. What could have stopped it is much more simple and that is reinforced cockpit doors on airplanes... this was not the first time people have broken into cockpits...hell my car is much more secure than the cockpits were. There are quite a few specific things that make me dislike bush. The first one is the war. We should have not gone into war. We did not have good enough reasons to enter the war. WMDs? What? Where? yeah. And how bush got people to believe that iraq somehow was related to 9-11 is still over me. Al queda was based in afaganistan, but no, we have to many oil buddies there... This is not a war on afganistan or iraq, it is a war on terrorism... so it is open ended he can just go on attacking other countries if he wishes and its the same war. The second reason for my hatred of bush is his defiance of the constitution. Any president that does not honor the basis for our country should be thrown out of office. Patriot act anybody? Yeah sure come into my home and search it with out a warrant and while your at it put a keystroke recorder on there too and dont tell me... thats not against my constitutional rights...thanks ashcroft... While they are at it why dont they just do an illegal wire tap too... oh wait....they can (btw those outnumbered legal ones last year) And on another note Bush can detain citizens for suspicion of being a terrorist and hold them indefinently without lawyer... Someone tell me how this is good for our country?? Also I would like to know how many iraqi citizens have been killed in this war compared to the number killed in 9-11.... since i guess 9-11 and iraq are related according to bush. This war reminds me of vietnam in too many ways...
