  1. I was in NYC & Philadelphia all last week so I didn't get to ride -- it's good to be back on the bike and even better when the weather is like this (taken this morning on my commute to IPD over the Columbia River):
  2. Yup - still here as Volvo Product Line Manager. I could always go for more time off, but I do alright in that department - just went to Iceland a couple months back and going to NYC & Philly next week. Yesterday our computer system here took a dump so I couldn't do anything I needed to do work wise. Figured it was a sign I should be out riding anyway so took off. All back to normal today though so back at it
  3. Nice -- I really like All City's whole line-up but the Mr. Pink specifically is a really great bike. Yesterday I ended up with the afternoon off -- a perfectly good reason to go ride through the woods:
  4. Well in that case, here's a couple more from the same ride this weekend Can't really see it in this pic since it got kinda washed out taking it with my iPhone, but Mt. Saint Helens is in view right across the lake. Oh, and if you want to see some seriously ridiculous bike-in-landscapes-and-on-cool-roads-pics.... here's where to look: https://www.instagram.com/rmdub/
  5. Got the Cielo stem installed:
  6. Ha -- sounds like I definitely shouldn't try them then!
  7. Man, I'd love to try a set of ENVE wheels but I don't know if I should. I'm scared I'd like 'em too much and actually buy a set and I don't need to be spending that kinda money! OH, and I'm all in on the lavender for my Geekhouse... I bought this Cielo stem a couple months ago with intention of putting it on my Cielo Cross Classic but it never looked right on there. So instead I sent it to Spectrum Powder Works in Colorado and had them strip it and powder coat it in the same RAL 4005 color code as the Geekhouse.
  8. That Molteni Volvo is sweet! Oh, I also took the Geekhouse out for some early morning miles yesterday:
  9. Riding through Fort Vancouver:
  10. Tidy'ed up my workbench area this weekend:
  11. Finally got a pic with my favorite local mural: Also swapped to a longer stem and Nitto flat bars on the Geekhouse. Ended up being a much better combo with the track geometry:
  12. I've considered those too. The reach/drop on the KFC bars is right in the range of where I want to be as well and very close to the ENVE compact bars too. I'd be happy to run them if a deal comes up on them. Really I'd grab either the ENVE or Thomson carbon bars -- just depends on which I can find a deal on first. Thanks dude. I try to be as meticulous as possible putting bikes together same as with Volvos. Sometimes it's tricky getting the whole thing to all look right together and form a cohesive whole that makes sense aesthetically and functionally. I feel like I get a little closer on each bike. At least, I try to! I wasn't so sure about the frame pump at first -- I would much rather have a nice pump than a CO2 cartridge for flats though. I think it matches OK as is but I still think I'll paint the body of the pump matte black to match the bike better than the current brushed aluminum finish it has.
  13. Still really happy with my All-City Mr. Pink. Everything is pretty dialed now. Waiting to find the right deal to come up on a 40cm set of ENVE compact bars to replace the Salsa bars. Then really the only other thing I'll change is the pedals. Keeping platforms and thinking I'm going to bite the bullet and buy some White Industries pedals to replace the MKS track pedals on there now.
  14. Nice. I really like it too -- to me it's a good in-between tape with just the right amount of padding. I don't like super thick padded tape and also don't like the extra thin stuff. It's just right.
  15. Still really enjoying this bike.
  16. Yeah it is -- cheaper even than Ribble which is rare for Shimano. Or you could go for 5800 and get it for $367 shipped from Ribble.
  17. It was beautiful, but cold here this weekend. Nice to get out in the sun during this time of year. The air is extra clear and the views of the local mountains were amazing. Fresh snow on all of them (St. Helens/Hood/Adams) so they were practically glowing. Not as clear in pics as it was in real life, but here's Mt. St. Helens as seen from Vancouver Lake:
  18. Cinelli Caleido. Small change on the purple bike -- I didn't really like the white outline decals. Emailed Geekhouse and bought a new decal set for a few bucks in solid black. Much better:
