  1. As seen on my lunch ride today:
  2. My contribution has been mentioned in the thread already, but here's a pic: OEM carbon trim kit in my '98 S70. Also in the pic is an OEM leather shift knob. Still need to buy the leather e-brake handle to match...
  3. Mellow summer evening rides around the neighborhood are always nice:
  4. I'm guessing he's talking about the brand Stolen: http://www.stolenbmx.com/
  5. There's Ruckus Composites here in Portland too.
  6. Swapped the chainring on my All City for a Race Face narrow wide. Dropped the chain twice with the other chainring and thought I'd give a different chainring a shot instead of adding a chain guide. The Wolf Tooth rings are nice, but a bit on the pricey side. Same with the Absolute Black rings (although I'll admit I considered an Absolute Black just because they look so cool). Picked up the Race Face ring for less than $50 and it kicks ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD. Not super psyched on the graphics but the look is growing on me. The thing is beautifully machined and finished and the narrow/wide tooth profile hold the chain super snugly. No more dropped chains and whisper quiet drivetrain.
  7. Also added more match-iness to my Cielo with some of the new Paul Component skewers they made for their 25th anniverdary: And one small thing also for my Cielo:
  8. Someone with a Volvo should pick these up: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/pts/4484797578.html
  9. Totally! I have 28c tires on my Cielo and inflate them to 85-ish psi. On the new All City I am running 25c and inflating to 100psi. On top of that the new All City is a couple pounds lighter overall and I have it set up with more saddle to bar drop too. All those things together help for sure.
  10. Got back from vacation and took advantage of the nice weather yesterday to put 20 more miles on my new All City Mr. Pink: I'm really liking this bike. I cut 7:00 minutes off my average time for the 20 mile loop I ride frequently on this bike vs. my Cielo.
  11. Just finished building my new bike last night. I ended up picking up an All City Mr Pink frameset to build up. This is my "bargain" bike. I like using the best parts I can, but hate retail pricing. The rule I used on this one was I wouldn't pay anything past 50% of retail for the nice components. Night pic a couple miles from home on the first test ride: This morning, after wrapping the bars:
  12. Should be fine. If it's in and doesn't creak and turns smooth I wouldn't worry about it. I've installed plenty of headsets by rubber mallet...
  13. C'mon, someone buy my ENVE fork before I find a short headtube track frame to use it on. For some reason my brain is trying to justify to me that I should build a whole 'nother bike just so I can use the fork.
  14. Any of you guys interested in an ENVE 2.0 road fork? I'm selling the one I just bought a few weeks ago: http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/bik/4394131421.html I'd drop the price down to $250.00 for one of you guys is you could use it.
  15. Nice! The Rival group sitting on my workbench waiting for it's future frame is jealous
  16. Caught a break in the rain finally and put some mileage on the Cielo with the new Dura Ace stuff. Downtube shifters take some reaquaintence time, but I like it.
  17. I refuse to wear clippy-shoes and ride MKS flat pedals on all my bikes.
  18. Not particularly a weight weenie, no. Just happened to get good deals on the Dura Ace stuff. I paid $55 for the 7800 rear derailleur, $75 for the 7900 front derailleur and $50 for the 7900 cassette. I would like to eventually swap out the rear derailleur for 7900 so it matches but haven't been able to find one for a price I want to pay. Cheapest I see them go in OK used condition is still typically over $100.
  19. Chris King "Classic Cross" actually. I like the hub design on those better than the more popular R45. Funny too since towards the beginning of that video he points out his Dura Ace 7800 rear derailleur. Last night when I swapped on that Dura Ace cassette and gold KMC chain in the pic I also put these derailleurs on:
  20. Picked up a new fork for my wife's bike to add some lightness: And hey look, drywall!
