+1 - I lived for years in Switzerland and Germany, never heard of winter tires unless you were driving in the alps. Came over here and suddenly everyone was paying $800-1000 for the privilege of driving in 2" of snow.

True - but I do a reasonable amount of Pro Video work and given that it's a third of the price, it compares very well to my Apple 30" monitor. They aren't flashy or hyped, just a good deal if that's your budget. I've recommended them to several digital video/graphic arts people (who can be ultra-picky) and they've all been satisfied.
