I'm horrible at math. Can anyone help me figure out what the % drop or change in alternator RPM would be going from a stock 56mm OD pulley, to a 70mm OD pulley? Basically 1/2" increase in diameter.

Alternator speed will be reduced to 80% of the original speed. At 8krpm with the new pulley, the alt will be spinning the same speed as it was with the old pulley and the engine running at 6,400rpm. :)

If the fuel was cut, the engine should stop revving higher. The question then is did the ECU simply not respond to the rising RPMs quickly enough, or did it not cut at all? I would expect a significant change in EGT and AFR if it did actually cut.

It certainly can be done, but wear is gonna be an issue. For reference, a piston out of a modern F1 engine, 98mm bore. These guys are putting out north of 300bhp/L with a design life of around 2,000 racing miles between engine changes.

How do you plan on routing the belt to make the alt spin the opposite direction then? Or am I just missing something obvious? :lol:

Can you take a shot inside the runners looking at the transition from the runner to the mounting flange, near the injector bungs? It looks like there are some sharp edges around there that could use some smoothing out.

Ultimately, the way things are going now can't remain. There have been enough societal and technological changes that requires a substantial change to the way the government functions for a proper balance. Right now, I feel like the government is stuck in the past, and is too stubborn to find a way to become more useful to the people it serves.

Don't worry too much about the size of the compressor itself, compare the compressor maps.

20G, 1 kg/s = 132.3 lb/min, so the peak flow is around 42.5 lb/min

The GTX3076 flow map, peak flow of about 65 lb/min

The important thing to note here is how the 20G isn't really suited for boost pressure over 2.5:1, or around 20-22psi.

If anything, the GTX3076R is too big, the GTX3071R is probably a better match :)

If you're eying the Garretts, Mark was getting a reasonable amount of boost by 4000rpm with his 0.63A/R GT3582R on an older 2.3L engine, I don't recall the exact number off-hand though. The GTX3076R will flow just as much and should spool 200-400rpm sooner.. at the expense of being a really expensive turbo :rolleyes:

The manifolds should bring top end VE up quite a bit.

Aside from that, I've always felt it is best to go as large as you can get to idle smoothly; the lower the IDC is, the less time the injectors are spraying at the back side of the closed intake valves.

If airflow and AFR remains constant, IDC will increase to 89-90% at 7500 rpm. If you get more air or run a little richer, it's gonna be even higher IDC. Past 80-85% at those RPMs, the injectors are basically saturated anyhow; there probably isn't enough time for the pintle to close all the way. You'd have to know the actual rise/fall time of the injector to be sure, but I'd say you're running dangerously close to the limit of those injectors.

That intake manifold looks pretty good. I gotta get in touch with Nathan soon :D

I may just get on TB and ask him about it. Did he tell you the runner length, diameter and plenum volume? Or give you an estimate for its target RPM band of highest resonance? :D

My R clutch was totally fine at 400whp. It didn't slip at 450whp either but I din't drive it much making that power, as one of the straps on the pressure plate broke due to foreign object damage.

You know better than this.... power rating for a clutch? How much torque were you putting down, low 400 ft-lbf?
