Hmmm, never had an issue with the Dunlops 3Ds, like I said, I've had more issue in snow with ride height... If we didn't have a bad winter like last year I'd be all over getting All Seasons but don't think I want to "chance it" this years since I'm still hauling my son around daily... But if I got the Gmax I could run them all year round and save $270 over the 4Ds...

So while everyone is talking snow tires, it's time to upgrade my winters wheels from 16" with Dunlop SP Wintersport 3D which have made it thru 8 seasons (I only run them for 4mths max) and could make it one more, but I'm going to 17" w/Dunlop WS 3D or 4D, anyone know if there is a big differeance? I've read it's got better sipes that lock together for better steering responce and are less "soft feeling" compared to the 3D. They are too new for reviews on Tirerack... Though about just running All Season Gereral Gmax tires, but with the amount of snow last year I'm rethinking that.. With AWD I've been able to run Summer tires (General Exclaims) once or twice when I caught out in it. My main issue isn't traction it's ride height.

3K+FPS is overkill for that subject, just cause you can go fast doesn't mean you have to.... I'm currently doing a job that I'm shooting 8KFPS for a composite panel being impacted with a large weight. My rule of thumb is if it's a chemical reaction, ie explosives or a match head igniting is when you really need to go over 2KFPS. Physical things are easy to do under 1KFPS. Anything a human can do is SLOW, ie -500FPS, at that point you are just wasting harddrive space. That could have been shot at 500FPS and with my JVC handy cam what a waste of a Phantom Cam... And don't get me started on his lighting and HAND holding the camera!!!!

Depending on your tire size, you could get away with some spacers. On my tire/rim package I'm maxed out front and rear 235/40 18x8 38et. Thinking of running 5mm spacers on the Titians for the winter, gonna run 235/45-17 Dunlop 3D wintersports.

That looks fairly easy to do. I'll more then likely use the key that has the most wear on it. Now just gotta get Howard to cut me a key. Knew I should have given it to you this weekend.. When you up this way again?

Why didn't you get the 4 botton? How did you cut up the key to get the chip out? Thru the center or sides?

I've got 2 and if I have this flip it I still will if it works. I'm not sure I want to bypass it. I like people not being able to steal it... Not that anyone wants an old '00R, atleast out side of every member on this board...

So how do I get the chip out? Anyone have pix of this? I don't want to hack up my key in risk of damaging the chip, might get one from the junkyard to open first before I do mine.

Some of you guys know I got one thru Amazon for $16. I'd like to know more about making this work with +99 cars that doesn't require bypassing the immobilizer or cutting the chip out of the current key. Could a real Volvo flip key w/immobilizer be used in this conversion housing?

I've seen of some 914 coming with them but with only 80-100hp, and a 14hp hit when you ran the AC they must have been painful! Especially around town.
