Yes we have trout. All of them are stocked until you get into east TN. There you can fish for the Appalachian strain Brook Trout as well as wild rainbows and browns. Until last year our tailwater fishing had been excellent in middle TN, but the rains or 09-10 have devastated some of the fishers here. Fortunately we have lots of smallmouth/largemouth/sunfish opportunities. Good to know I'm speaking to a fellow fly fisherman. I agree on the staying healthy and some fresh air. That is something I feel was missing from the entire healthcare debate in this country. The focus seemed to be only on care and not preventative care. A substantial portion of any health care could be reduced if individuals quite eating a diet full of absolute shit while sitting on the couch and getting fatter by the minute.

hahaha! thanks for taking my cheeky comment so well Enforcement is a huge issue in this state, and a sore subject among enthusiasts, like myself. We are a growing state and the cost of living is very low. We do have the highest sales tax in the nation (9.25%) but we have no income tax. Lots of opportunities for sportsmen here, and the weather is usually very nice most of the year. If you would like to know anything about TN, shoot me a PM, maybe I can help.

Just purchased my TN resident liscence and it was $48 w/ trout stamp. In 13 years of fishing in TN it has been checked once, and I fish often. I would pay $100 if there were more TWRA officers out and about. I would like to point out that we have a republican super majority in this state. :tdown:
