  1. Every once in a while I take a look at the SD10 and sometimes do a tiny bit of work on the car.. So far the non running and non wired 5 cylinder engine has seen two turbo's and the third one, and I think final choice one, came in this week. The first turbo was a 20G. Fitted OK, had the oil feed finished but decided to sell the turbo. Ordered a GT3071 with a Cosworth turbine housing but the internal wastegate didn't play nice from a placement point of view. I have to add that I didn't specifically order this type of turbo for the SD10, it was more out of curiosity. Decided to stay with the GT3071 but use an external wastegate. Ordere a complete turbo with wastegateless housing and a Tial F38 wastegate because it fit the ATP manifold used. Selected the spring strength but never thought about the color option.. Of course a webshop doesn't use the base silver model as default selected color but the $10 more expensive Red option..
  2. For us Dutch it is pretty cold. Doesn't happen that often.
  3. Last night even colder.. Loaner V40 T2 dash btw. Picked the P up this afternoon including sensors and without warning lights.
  4. Put the P on winter wheels. Came with a lot of hassle because there were no sensors installed in the wheels and dTPMS can't be switched off. Dealer suggested to software to iTPMS which did tun the display back to showing "green" tires but the no sensor warning in the dash remained. Tomorrow the cr will be changed back to dTPMS and sensors will be installed in the wheels. Changed to winter wheels because black ice was to be expected but never showed.. A few days later there was some light snow so the changes wasn't completely useless. Last night was pretty cold, E-windows and e-mirrors were frozen. Appears the P isn't that Swedish anymore. The CE even grew what looked like hair, Same story with the windows and one mirror. Electrical heated windshield did wonders though.
  5. Nice demonstration of the truck turning radius.
  6. In my country USPS doesn't handle customs but the local expeditor does. Can take a long time. I have had packages which took over a week to get through customs. Don't know if UK does the same but looks like it. Tracking doesn't show shit during the time the package is waiting for clearance.
  7. Received a couple of images from our Ring visit earlier this year, Made by Fearless.. <--
  8. What it shows is basically all there is to it. Here you can see small channels leading from the cavities between the ports to the ports. Then there is the manifold gasket with sort of flapper doors in front of the cavities. When you look at the manifold there is a chambers surrounding the runners also with openings at the same spot as the cavities. The chamber is also connected to the crank ventilation system. When there is vacuum in the runner the flapper door in the gasket can open. When there is boost it will be pushed against the manifold effectively closing the opening.
  9. It's a VST cover. Slightly modified by previous owner.
  10. Yes that's true. Difficult to find specially on a tiny screen. It's a little triangle to the right of the account overview. When you go there and select the signature settings the signature page will look pretty similar to the image posted earlier. On an iPhone that is.
  11. Yes when you toggle the toggle in the signature the toggle disappears.. (pheww..) But when you go to the profile settings to the signature part there should be another toggle to toggle things back to how it was.. And then hit the save button! <--
  12. http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php/topic/131926-eriks-850/ Looks like the earlier archive issue. Another thing, there is no direct dialog for placing a link text with embedded URL. Now you have to paste an URL, click is and change the link text. A bit puzzling IMO. Maybe add a dialog to the "insert other media" button? Something like "Insert link text from URL" This because non of the good old BBCode is being processed properly anymore.
  13. There isn't a small cross on the right underneath a line under a post which says "ignore signature preferences" on mouse-over ?
  14. Like this? Just paste an URL and when the url is processed you can click it and change the link text. Should be an improvement...
  15. So.. About the track day Emiel and I attended. It was a blast to say the least. Last Sunday we left Area 34 with the P60 and the V40 using the P as a parts truck and back up vehicle in case something would not go as planned and we headed for the South of the Netherlands. Emiel had arranged a place to sleep in a town with very narrow streets.. Next morning at 07:15 we went on for the last 55 km to Belgium. We arrived at the circuit at 08:15 in time for the briefing at 08:30. Due to some every oil spillage on the track it took about an hour longer before we could start. In the mean time some last preparation was done by Emiel, GoPro, While I was trying to build some confidence drinking a watery coffee.. The plan has been from the start to drive the car as stock as possible. The only mods were the two tow eyes added and the tire pressure lowered slightly compared to advised by Volvo for road use. Stock street tires, Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 235/35-19. Stock 320 mm brakes which btw now come with different callipers compared to the ATE ones used on C30/S40/V50/C70. The older style callipers had proven to be pretty consistent with good performance. Not outstanding but good. The car has no spare tire but a repair kit with compressor. I ordered a full 19" spare with Bridgestone tire last week just to make sure not running in to the same problem I had last time with the S60R. Then came the first meters on an unfamiliar and unfortunately also a wet track. Yes I was driving the Spa Francorchamps race track which I have been wanting to do for so long. A dream come true. But not with confidence. This also because of the oil issues which later on didn't turn out to be as severe as told. The track itself is basically just as overwhelming as the Nurburgring with huge elevation differences. For preparation I have watched some video's but non of them really showed how much incline there really is. Eau Rouge is famous but the back part of the track is just as impressive. What goes up must come down so to speak. During the day the track dried and the track became more familiar. Speeds went up a bit to the point where the limit of the tires and brakes were reached and also the limits of the driver. But what a blast!. And the V40 was also a delight to drive.
  16. Emiel in rehab. He did great. An awesome experience . . .
  17. The P, CE and DOP at the last local C&C before the winter,
  18. Nothing foreseen but I have been investigating everything you mention.. I want to drive the car the way it is first. If I want to do brakes it will have to be 6 pot - 356 mm rotor minimum. Suspension I think will be KW. They have several options available because the V40 shares parts with the Ford Focus. Tires.. Still have a set of Kumho V70A 225/40-18 on TDR ProRace 1.5 rims available, Exhaust isn't much available. Received a weird reply from Ferrita directing me to Volvo. As if there's a V40 Polestar in the pipeline..
