  1. Is your tire deploying its flaps or something?
  2. They'll be going on the Tethys soon. It does kind of suck leaving the Midwest but when Im working on the car outside in December I think itll start to make up for it. I've decided Im going to have fun with the car and worry about the trans when it comes down to it...Craig talked me through my options when I learned about the trans. Im in/right next to the Elfin Forest if you can find it on a map. 15 minutes from the beach and probably 10 minutes to Escondido. Thanks man! Going to miss all those MWC shenanigans. Might have to get a meet together close to the holidays so I can attend! *Sigh* nearest Canadians are up in Vancouver now. Hopefully work will bring me back to the MWC one of these days, company I work for is based in Chicago.
  3. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/silicon-valley-billionaire-funding-creation-artificial-libertarian-islands-140840896.html Real life Bioshock in the making? Wut?
  4. Bought the T5M back in May after searching since September(2010) in order to replace my aging N/A. Car was located just north of Baltimore so my Dad and I flew out here and drove it back over the course of two days. The trip was uneventful, no cop scares or anything. Stopped for the night in Pittsburgh just because and it gave me and excuse to visit a friend from high school and drink Yuengling...picked up about 4 cases before heading out the next morning. Fast forward a month or two, got a job offer with the company I interned with during college with their San Diego office doing field work. Looks like buying a wagon came in handy. Was able to pack up most of my life into the car besides my Tethys which are being shipped as we speak and my TV which my parents decided to buy to replace the 20 year old TV in the basement. Thought about towing the car behind a u-haul since I think my trans might have a input shaft bearing that's beginning to wear out...but decided to just cram everything in. Company I was hired by was paying for the move so gas money was taken care of. Trip took 3 days, roughly 10 hours each day. First day was: Milwaukee, WI to North Platte, NE...was about as boring as you think it was and then some, only thing that made up for it was 75mph speed limit in NE. Second day was: North Platte, NE to Green River, UT, this stretch was probably the best because of the Rocky Mountains, actually saw my average mpg's go up while going through the mountains. Third day was Green River, UT to San Diego, CA, almost as boring as the first day since it was mostly desert and once you got into SoCal there was traffic, something I had been able to avoid on the trip till then. Overall it was quite and easy drive and the car performed perfectly! Enjoy the pics! Picking up the car in Baltimore. Rolling through Maryland. To bad the car had a stock exhaust. Taking a stroll past an old jobsite. Allegheny River Bridges Worst part of the trip.... V70T5M and the S70N/A together one last time. Was able to sell the S70 the day before I left for CA. :( Loaded up! Boring Illinois. Mississippi River Boring Iowa... Nebraska Sweet! Thank god for functioning A/C!!! Boring Nebraska... Volvo found some fellow wagons to hang out with at the hotel in North Platte. Finally something interesting on the trip. Going up the first big hill into the mountains. Downhill for a while after going through the tunnel on I-70. Very fast...a little to fast towards the end. Scenic overlook area. Volvo shot. Colorado River. Stayed at the Green Terrace along the Green River...if your ever stop for the night I would recommend the place! Great room and free breakfast where they will cook you anything! Corvette club meet in the middle of nowhere The new digs in San Diego. North of the city out in the country. View out the front door. All washed...3 weeks after leaving Wisconsin.
  5. Well I guess my delete worked/didnt work. I wired in the diode a couple days before I moved out to San Diego, CA from Milwaukee, WI. The entire trip out there was without incident and it wasnt until the morning after I had arrived that my CEL popped. It was two weeks before I was able to swing by a mechanic and have the codes checked. (CA is weird and autozones/ auto parts stores wont let you borrow a code reader). Or at least the ones I went to wouldnt let me quick check my codes. Mechanic came back with two codes, one for a barometric sensor failure which I wasnt surprised by and the other was for a seized air pump. He didnt actually give me the code numbers which might have helped...This weekend Ill probably check down in the area where I wired in the diode and see if something popped lose for some reason... Luckily all I did after wiring in the diode was disconnect the air pump.
  6. You dont see Grant till its too late.
  7. Well I'll be changing Volvo Crews after tomorrow. Midwest Crew for SoCal Crew. Going to try and take some pictures along the way.
  8. Not anymore, the guy who bought my S70 didnt care if it had a working one.
  9. Wired in the diode below the ECU today. So far so good. Only thing Im wondering about is what plug you need to pull to disconnect the SAS pump itself. Is it the white connector in front of the battery down a little bit?
  10. Blacked out from drinking too much Mountain Dew?
  11. So did anyone spot the 850 wagon in the recent Top Gear episode...it had titans and possibly a r-bumper.
  12. Eastbound and Down. Are you at work?
  13. Got a job offer with the company I interned for during college! :)
  14. Hows that work? Did it look not right?
