So I was in Las Vegas for business this week and took my usually dawn patrol walk past the casinos. (not many people around and the ones that are out are usually interesting to watch since they probably have been going all night) My late night partying got pretty much used up in the last century. I saw these recently discarded Daisy Dukes in a planter box. I'm trying to imagine what the story is as to how these ended up there, any guesses?

I couldn't begin to address it, Here's an explanation, its different depending on where your house was situated in 1997/1998. I was in a good neighborhood, high tax area in those days. Houses in the gentrified areas close in to downtown enjoy 1/2 to 1/3 of the rate I pay for a similarly valued house. http://www.jolynne.com/property-tax-portland.html

I really hate the property taxes in Portland, but the "death by a thousand cuts" city taxes aren't near as bad as soon as you get out of Multnomah county. No sales tax in Oregon either.
