  1. Sometimes all that's needed is a little persistence. I appreciate the thought and everything but I have a setup in mind that I'd like to have in the car at some point already and unless it's that, I'm not going to use it.
  2. Haha, it's cool. After a heated argument the purchases have been retracted. B)
  3. I see what you're saying and you make perfect sense. For whatever reason she will not tell him not to purchase the items and would rather me just sell them if I do not want them. If I do sell them I'm going to unload the stuff for a hell of a deal, might as well pass on the extreme savings to someone else. She sent me pictures and I've identified what was purchased: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Kicker+-+Z-Series+2-Channel+Amplifier+Installation+Kit/9906546.p?id=1218193798315&skuId=9906546 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Kicker+-+ZX+Series+400W+Class+D+Digital+Mono+MOSFET+Amplifier+with+Low-Pass+Crossover/9894152.p?id=1218190975819&skuId=9894152 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Kicker+-+10%22+Single-Voice-Coil+4-Ohm+Subwoofer+with+Enclosure/9894295.p?id=1218190975541&skuId=9894295 I have no experience with Kicker products, thoughts?
  4. That's what she told me, that we cannot return it for fear of getting her friend's husband in trouble but I can sell it if it's not something I want. Apparently he is going to purchase the items after he's off the clock in a few hours and will be delivering it I guess. Mainly I'm agitated because she knows how I feel about this kind of stuff and thought it'd be ok to buy something for my car without me knowing and approving.
  5. I know she meant well but the wife and I got into it pretty good today. We got our tax return back Friday. Apparently with the help of the idiot Best Buy sales person they picked out a system for my car. I am so incredibly picky about what installs into my car and am pissed because I had specific plans for a system down the road and now she spent however much with the help of a sales person that may as well work at Pep Boys. Honestly I am probably going to sell it. I am not installing a system into my car that I didn't plan out. A lot of this has to do with how my parents did presents with me as a child. They would take me to the store and allow me to pick out things that I wanted. It's a sure way to get exactly what you want and will be most happy with and is how I like to go about doing presents. That and the fact that she knows how anal I am about my car and she thought it was ok to pick out a system with a Best Buy idiot. /rant I will stuff my pants if she returns home with a really nice setup and of course apologize immediately for getting mad. The sales person is the husband of a friend of hers that knows stereos so she may not have done real bad. All I know at this point is that she got whatever she bought with his employee pricing and apparently saved hundreds. I would've rather had Koni adjustable rear shocks which I planned on installing before the system anyways. Apparently Lisa told me to buy those so maybe I should just keep my mouth shut and go with the flow.
  6. I just zoomed in on it. It says "Won Ton: Not Now"
  7. MAC, AND CHEESE coming to a town near you.
  8. Haha, he overshot saff and went straight to piss.
  9. UGLIEST S70 EVAR: Like the steering wheel cover? Sell it to ya cheap....... Mike and I keep seeing this poking thing in Lancaster.
  10. stands for awesome.

  11. Holy cow where'd the weekend go? I had some nasty cold deal and only remember laying down Friday morning and getting up Sunday night to shave/shower.
  12. I never actually read the facts before........some of their breakfast platters have like 1200 calories! :o
  13. Mike and I went to McD's today and holy balls I never realized how unhealthy that stuff is until we read all the nutritional information.
  14. Haha, it's pretty simple man. I know because I have a new air pump and check valve installed, the Genuine parts bill was very salty. Keep updating as you put more miles down, if this is a true way to get rid of the SAS I'm def. going this route. I just don't want to go through the hassle until I've seen a few K miles logged with no issues.
  15. The sensitivity does need to be turned down a notch or two, it shouldn't go bonkers when cars simply drive past it. You can adjust several of the alarm's settings from the remote but the instructions are in the manual which I always forget at the house. Btw, it's shop time tomorrow. I need to change Justin's spring seats and strut mounts. I changed my front calipers today so I didn't go. I want to check out the wheels he has their for sale as well.
  16. In city like parking conditions things would go so much smoother if everyone took the time to just dig out one or two spots, the stuff would melt exposing the dry road and life would be easy. But no, people have to plow over the deep snow and then it gets frozen with just retarded tire tracks and makes parking so much of a pain. You're right, those bastards will block spaces with anything they can. Lisa and I did it last year, then one day the city decided to drive around with a dumptruck and "collect" all the parking space savers. Needless to say the chair/footstool set on our porch now has zero footstools. I told the woman and the police officer last night that I shoveled two spots myself, and I'm not parked in either one. It's just how it goes.......with the territory.
  17. Try living in the city, wife and I were awoken at 1 AM this morning by our barking dog and a woman banging on our door bitching about I took her parking spot. First off there are no parking spots, there are parking districts in which we paid $30 for a lifetime permit. When it snows heavily people shovel retarded if at all and mark their spots with chairs. The spot I parked in did not have a chair in it as the welfare woman claimed. I armed Lisa's Viper alarm a few times and slammed the door after all was said and done. Cops laughed at the lady because marking parking spots is totally against city ordinance to begin with. Before the woman went back to her house I reminded her of the Viper's extremely sensitive dual zone proximity sensors. Damn thing gives warning beeps if someone even walks within 2 feet of it. The woman kept telling me to move my car because she can't find parking and I told her, ok, so I move my car.....where the monkey am I supposed to park? Waiting on city police at 1 AM was not on my agenda. Edit: I hate living in the city.
  18. Mike just sent me this from idk how long ago, first rolling shot of my car evar! Not kidding, it's the only one I have.
  19. Nice, toss a thread up in audio when you start changing your setup. Yeah, it's probably just JL trying to tell their speakers and amps as packages if it's even true at all. Hmm, that's a good point. I wonder if one W7 would sound equivalent to 2 W3's......have you ever heard one before? I've always been a fan of sealed boxes with the appropriate cubic feet but whichever the speaker is best suited for would be my choice. I know the W3's sound really good in sealed boxes but IIRC the W7's need the ported boxes. I remember reading that somewhere, don't quote me. Thanks! I will def. get around to laying carpet under the rear deck there eventually. It's hard to justify doing because unless you get on your knees and look into the trunk you don't see any wires.
  20. Thanks man, I like your setup as well. I have heard that JL subs perform best when mated with JL amplifiers, wonder if there's any truth behind that. Either way, I'd like to toss a system in the Volvo at some point. I want the potential to disturb a lot of piece. I've been thinking the 2 JL 12's I mentioned or 3 JL W3 10's. I like the 12's because they are very pronounced but 10's are my favorite in terms of accuracy. I had 1 JL 12W3 in my old 850 years and years ago and just one was pretty damn loud. 2 of them might be a bit of overkill but it's refreshing to bounce your ear drums around from time to time. Old setup, nothing too special just neat and clean. I really enjoy installing stereos. I think I enjoy tuning them better though, nothing's better than mirror bouncing frequencies. Yes, I keep an air freshener in my trunk. Don't know why. Here's the wife's currently, only thing I'd like to do back there is to carpet under the rear deck there to cover up the wires. I didn't get a chance to get one with the backseats folded down which is where the cap and amp are mounted.
  21. Yes, pretty poking loud. Wife has an 07 Cobalt, I was pleased to find the battery already in the trunk a few years back when I was building her stereo. Made things soooo much easier.... Anyhow, professionally installed by me we have a 4 AWG wiring kit, digital Tsunami fuse block right after leaving the battery, 1.2 farad Tsunami cap, Alpine V Power 500.1 @ 2 ohms, 2 Rockford Fosgate P2D210's in a custom enclosure. We found the custom enclosure on ebay, the guy built it to fit a Cobalts trunk so it sort of acts as a wall of sorts. The nice thing was he built it to suit the Fosgates' cubic feet needs. The box sits all the way against the back of the backseats and when you look in all you see is a carpeted wall and 2 shiny 10's. And yes, power cap's do work. I can record a video of the system slammin' with and without it, major difference. I'm a car audio nerd, I love installing and tuning stereos. I consider myself exceptionally good at it. Stock radio, line/level converter in place. Dynamat lining the entire trunk.....Inside the cabin there's Rockford Fosgate 6 x 9's in the back deck and Fosgate 6.5's in the front doors. They don't sound bad at all with the stock head unit but the plan is to amp them eventually. I'm not gonna lie, it's insanely loud.......you wouldn't expect to only see 2 10's after hearing it. I'll see if I can snap a picture or two. I'd like to toss a JL Audio 500.1 mono amp and 2 JL 12W3V3's in my car, I've always had a soft spot for JL.
