  1. LOL....That bitch is crazy. I don't think she's really angry, she's just crazy.
  2. It's too big, too slow or too heavy? What tires did you put on it? A co-worker has a Super Sherpa that I took for a spin the other day. I was surprised how zippy it was for a 250. He wanted to ride my XR but he's only 5'4" and couldn't climb up on it.
  3. I forgot MTV was even still on the air.
  4. It's the flavor of the week. Next week it will be something else. Just another thing in the long line of distractions presented to the general public to keep them preoccupied and entertained. I generally don't watch television unless I'm forced to (waiting room, etc) which allows me to avoid bullshit and even shittier conversations with people about what is on the shitbox TV. Some people get their news and views strictly from Facebook and those people are the most ignorant ever. You can't call them retarded because that isn't fair to the real developmentally disabled people as they do their best with what they've been dealt. I work with a handful of hardcore liberals. I don't mind people that are passionate about what they believe in but those that are far to either side are irritating and seem to be that way only to have a group to belong to.
  5. Finally got the carb on the xr dialed in right and I've been tooling around on that regularly . In August I'm driving out to Colorado to pick up a 2005 crf450x. It belongs to a friend of mine that doesn't have the height for it. 40 hours on it. Aside from replacing the valves I'm probably going to supermoto it.
  6. I agree with that. He's a jackass and appeals to a very small audience. I don't care for Hillary either though.
  7. I give it two months or so. I put 14 coats on it, at least when it starts to bubble it will all lift off. It actually turned out real nice. I put that on yesterday and adjusted the valves, the petcock started dripping and my new carb was dumping gas. Put my Clarke tank on, same deal...dripping petcock. Jammed a rag up there and Tried starting it and that was a no-go, I called it a day as I had a few drinks and didn't feel like having it fall on me trying to start it. I really hate dealing with carbs, if I can't figure it out on Thursday the guy at the Polaris dealer will do it on Friday morning. He used to tune my carbs on my Jetski's back in the day, he's one of those guys that can do it in 20 minutes and have it nailed. I just second guess myself with those too much.
  8. Carb finally showed up. Put that on last Saturday along with all new plastics and lights. I took off the obnoxiously large Clarke tank and bought two semi-beat up used tanks. I wet-sanded one of them today and am going to try painting it with Krylon Fusion. The other one I'm going to Plastidip and see what happens. I'd imagine we'll see a few semi-warm days in March, but so far this winter has blown as far as temps go.
  9. Lol. That reminded me to call them to ask where it was. They said it should be here next week.
  10. I ordered a new carb for it on the 28th of November from XR's only. On the 18th the cat on the phone said he'd "get it out this week". Still no carb.
  11. The PO was an older guy, he knew his shit. That's the main reason I bought that bike over any other. He did ride the shit out of it but also took care of it.
  12. The snorkel was already yanked by the PO. I picked up a new Mikuni 41mm Flatslide carb from XR's only for $209 last week, at that price I decided not to dick with the old one since I needed new throttle cables anyway. If I can get all that squared away before Saturday then we're going out this weekend. It's supposed to be 50.
  13. When he finished the roll you could see his head snap back and forth pretty good. They jacked that thing up real good.
  14. I just can't get on board with new bike prices. We really wanted to get a 4-seater RZR but there's no way in hell I'm getting a toy that comes with a car note. Even the entry level machines are around $5k now. I remember my first ATC 110 was only $495 brand new...yeah that was 1983, but it's still insane. I'm pulling the carb tonight and adjusting the valves. It needs to be cleaned and rejetted anyway, I'm going to order a billet choke plate tomorrow when I order jets. I'm not sure If I'm a fan of the Supertrapp or not. It isn't obnoxiously loud, but it is loud and at the same time it's kinda cool because it's so old.
  15. Think about it, a lot of people want basic and easy. Look at the Yamaha TW200, they've been selling it essentially unchanged for 27 years because it's basic and it works. Aside from that, I'm a cheap bastard when it comes to toys. New stuff used to be semi-affordable but those days are gone.
  16. I could have picked up an xr400 but wanted the 600 instead. Northern Michigan is all sand so that's why I went with it. Came with a Clarke 5 gallon tank, 200w Ricky Stator, Supertrapp exhaust, skid plate, Baja designs lighting with an Acerbis rear fender, extra set of Excel wheels and a bunch of extra stock parts. Front forks are redone for the heavier tank. It came from Northern Arizona, it's jetted lean right now at our elevation so I'll have to rejet it asap. It scoots, isn't insanely loud and it's already street titled. I could have picked up any other 600 and sank the $700 into it to make it streetable, but this was the better option. Plus it was owned by an older cat that has had it since new. Sooo.....I'm going to go through it just because that's what I do when I buy shit. Adjust the valves, redo the carb, new cables and probably new plastics. Has newer sprockets and o-ring chain, I'll probably put street tires on the extra set of wheels and Supermoto it when it isn't up north.
  17. I bought an XR600 today, I'll post a pic when I pick it up tomorrow.
  18. The entire system is fucked. Not fucked like North Korea, but still fucked regardless. Your average American is an idiot also, enough so that we have a few controlled media outlets that will appeal to the vast majority of them. These people align themselves with whatever group appeals to them but fails to realize that all of them are crooked. They're only shown what they need to be shown and they believe all of it. Most of what is aired is just smoke and mirrors/diversion tactics. Let's keep people fired up about religion, abortion and other touchy emotional subjects so that they won't even bother looking for what is really happening. The two-party system promotes that, it's a team thing and it keeps people divided. People that are divided will only worry about the other side, not issues that really have a bearing on EVERYBODY as a whole.
  19. Completely different state of mind/culture compared to ours, at least the US as a whole. We're screwed up for a lot of different reasons and it isn't going to get any better. Civility is something that's been on the decline for awhile. There's more of it in some areas than others but it's still in decline.
  20. The unfortunate part of that statement is that the lower income bracket really can't afford kids, but most of them just bang out freely and spit them out left and right. All of that takes place while the folks with a bit of common sense wait to have them until they get established and can afford them. Just like the move Idiocracy.
  21. He's a redneck from down south and people are in some sort of uproar over his comments, comments that are actually fairly tame for coming from a redneck. Did they really expect much different? I'm not much of a TV guy and I've never seen the show. I could give two shits about A&E especially when their name actually meant Arts and Entertainment at one time, not hillbillies from the deep south. Being that I'm not a fan of Hollywood or the mainstream media in general, I'd say that shit like this is orchestrated to boost ratings.
  22. No they wouldn't, not at minimum wage. A person making $12/hour full time would still be able to pull grants, enough to cover tuition and books. They won't be going to a four year school, but it will get them started on the way to that. I've seen lots of people pull themselves up from the bottom with a lot of shit stacked against them. They also succeeded in time. College doesn't necessarily mean a four year degree. A certificate program/associates or trade can still do pretty good. But you can take clients golfing, just be sure to cover it up with a long-sleeve shirt.
  23. Minimum wage jobs were never meant to support a family or provide a livelihood. It's a stepping stone or part time job. If you're making minimum wage and that's your livelihood, then you're more than eligible for financial aid to attend community college. You then go from making $8/hour to $20+. Minimum wage should drive a person to improve themselves, we don't raise the minimum wage to improve their lives for them. When I was in high school I washed dishes and worked at a lumber yard. I quickly figured out that wasn't the lifestyle for me, thus I took the proper avenues to ensure that I could make a decent living. Nobody had to tell me that, I figured it out on my own. I didn't even think that it would be proper to ask for more money to perform menial tasks and that was at the age of 15. l don't even have a bachelors degree, just a couple of associates degrees and a shitload of random community college and university credits. I've been living pretty good since I was 21 years old. Common sense shit, at least to me.
