  1. Tell me about it. Got on plane to fly out of BWI, pushed out onto tarmac and get a announcement that the plane is to heavy and they have to go back to the gate to kick 6 people off. which made us almost late to our connecting flight in Atlanta, doors were closed but they hadn't pulled out of the gate yet so they let us on. Leaving to come home seemed ok, checked bag in Vegas as we had to much stuff to return with, flew into Salt Lake City and connected to our flight to BWI. Get into BWI go to claim our bag and nothing. Go to desk, it's still in Salt Lake city and will be heading to Atlanta then back to BWI. Half the flight got there luggage the rest didn't. They said you can come back tommorow to pick it up, I said wrong answer you butt wipes can deliver it to me at my place of residence. Messed up thing is the bag had all the new contact info, catalogs and free samples we collected at the convention. Now my wife is set behind until sometime next week, freakin loser of an airline!
  2. Back from Vegas, what fun that was. Def. will be going back next year for the convention, wifes boss man said though he will make sure to send us for a week. Won $250 at craps However I have nothing nice to say about flying on Delta, what a dumbass airline. Will never fly with them again!

  7. Wife will be along. Going with her actually for a convention for her work. I'm not a gambler so I figure i'll hang in the hotel during the day and hit the town at night, maybe a slot here and there but that's the extent of my gambling. Any shows to recommend?

  18. I will agree on 134a if your just topping off every year and not fixing the actual leak then a vac. down is pointless as your not fixing the problem and air and moisture will just be brought into the system via the leak, but for someone who is actually fixing the leak then it would be wise to do so. And he does commercial aswell , he does resi. when things are slow in commercial side and does resi. side work, remember we talked briefly on it the last time I was up. Works in Indianapolis making kick butt money in the union, very big city with lots of big office buildings and manufacturing facilities. requoted for ref. you need to stop adding things between the lines, where did I once say you knew nothing and or trash talked, I merely offered my buddies services to Mike.
  19. so in hvac when doing a evac. it's not necessry to make sure you don't shut the pump off without isolating it from the system being evacuated, as air will be sucked backward through the vacuum pump into the system. This will defeat the entire purpose of pulling the vacuum in the first place. Just curious as my brother in law has been doing installation not sales for over 17 years and this is what he did with my home central unit when it needed servicing.
  20. "Determine if you have any refrigerant left in your system at all. To do this, you will need to fit a charging hose on the low pressure port, discussed later. Be sure to use eye protection. If your system is completely discharged, it may be contaminated with moisture, and charging will not give satisfactory results unless the source of the leak is found, repaired and the receiver dryer replaced. The open system must be repaired and purged using a vacuum pump to remove air and moisture. You will also want to add compressor oil if the system has been leaking. Evidence of oil leakage and measurement of oil left in a replaced compressor will be a guide as to how much oil to replace." and also another step some don't do because they don't know don't know. "Purge the charging hose by opening the valve until you hear it fill with refrigerant, then slowly loosening the brass fitting that connects the hose to the valve. Be careful not to allow refrigerant to spray on bare skin, as this will freeze skin tissue on contact. Re-tighten the hose once you have heard refrigerant escaping, this should have forced any air (and moisture) from the hose." My friend is a ASE cert. tech and this comes srtaight from his book so take it for what it's worth.
  21. WHoa wonder if thats before WWII or after
  22. Mike swing down here we'll ride the 5min. to my buddy and have him throw his gauges on and check it out. I just did mine, it has a very slow leak at the accumulator/drier. You really need to know what's in the system now. throwing cans at it without knowing this is no good you can damage your compressor thst way. Plus you need to purge the system of air aswell.
  23. $20? I paid $6.99 a can at walmart of all places .
