  1. Well what if the person can't quit their job over pay or quit it over Health Care? that is the case for a lot of people in the US. I think the fact that a lot of people dont know how it will affect them or their business is a sign that this should have been pushed back and/or reconfigured. HHS says that millions of people have gone to the site but have they said how many people have signed up?
  2. Mike, How do you feel about providers dropping people from their health plan because it does not meet the requirement of the ACA? The option for those people would to go to the exchange find another plan which most likely would be more expensive?
  3. I looked at the Gold package that is similar to mine... $1300 more a month than what my employer offers. (different) but still crazy
  4. Sooooooo... anyone have numbers on what their health insurance was before and what their options are now? I am wondering how mine are going to change with my employer (even though they say it should not change )
  5. I am surprised he did not roll over them. I was thinking "why the heck is this guy not plowing them over?" If I had my wife and kid in the car I would have done anything to protect them from some guy trying to smash my window in and hurt us.
  6. Zing! I say we get them all out of office and then cap their salary at 100k. Then they have to have the same healthcare as the public (Senate voted no on this one). Also they only get paid for when they are at the office or on official business (that is the tough part).
  7. $3200 in damages to my car. Looks like it could be a total or (economic total loss) f u c k Adjuster is calling me on Monday to discuss more. They are getting the value of the car for me on Monday.
  8. Not about rocking the boat, it is about thinking through this law rather than shooting from the hip.
  9. holy crap Kevin, get your crap straight
  10. I am wondering if it will affect the premiums of those who have coverage under their employer. My company hires salary and hourly employees, so I am wondering what is going to happen. The premiums might not go up, but the coverage/deductible/% might change... again no one knows for sure and that is why this is so scary and people dont want it.
  11. So the premiums might be lower than they are now, but the deductible could be $5,000, $6,000 or $7,000 a year before insurance picks up the bill. I wonder how this works with ER visit. I called my company HR to see what the preview is going to be for my 2014 Rates and coverage.. .nothing yet but it should be interesting. I think it will help a good amount of people this year but hurt more this year... next year could be awful. I just dont like how both sides of the aisle are ignorant about this. I am the first to say we need healthcare reform, but not like this "shoot from the hip" let us figure it out as it is rolled out mentality. Typical govn't bullshit. Why would ANYONE trust the govnt to do a good job with a "business" (because that is what this is). Just blows my mind
  12. I plan on buying it back, the trick is to get it legal to be insured and not have much down time for me.
  13. That is what I am afraid of. Adjuster called just now, they are getting to torn down tomorrow morning and will have an estimate done for me tomorrow.... we will see.
  14. From what I saw, the bumper, grill, hood, wipers on the headlights and the thick plastic that is behind the hood and bumper looked to be cracked. I believe they will mark it as totaled if cost is over 75% the value of the car, it will be totaled.
  15. Adjuster is coming out today to look at the car at the shop. I am fearing the worst (totaled). What are my options if it is deemed a total loss since I am going through the other guys insurance (Progressive)?
  16. General and "rumors" of the insurance exchange. Again, no one will know what will happen until it happens, but it will be interesting to see how prices go up after the first year when a shit load of claims are processed.
  17. Sooooo... if uninsured are buying health insurance for under $100 a month... does it help if their deductible is $6000?
  18. battery was drained as I thought. $25 to charge the battery haha
  19. Small update, the body shop i am taking it to is not in Progressive's network but they said that is fine, The shop got great reviews and is near my house... i drop it off on Tuesday. Car died on Saturday with my son in the car. I was driving and the car started to loose power (lights getting dim, wipers were getting slower) luckly I was able to pull off safely. I could not start the car and it would not crank or click when turning the key. I called a tow truck and my wife picked up my son. I look under the good and the wire #1 was unplugged from the alternator. I am thinking that when the guy backed into me it might have jared the wire out and the little driving I did from Thurs evening to Saturday afternoon killed my battery. Car was towed to a shop to get looked at today. I am 95% sure the battery is dead dead dead since all of a sudden I lost power and the wire was disconnected. I will hear back today.
  20. How do I know if the amount that they quote me is enough to repair the damages? My policy covers a rental car but shouldn't I ask that from his insurance/adjuster? That is a good point about reimbursed for the diminished resale value of the car.
  21. Anyone have any tips of suggestions to make sure my car is done right back to normal and I dont go without a car for work?
  22. I was more worried that this guy would be illegal and/or not have insurance. He fumbled around in this car for 15 mins trying to find his paper work. Glad a I called a cop because when he said it was the other guys fault he was not happy.
  23. No it was more "I am going to go left now in the intersection.. wait there is a car coming.. I better back up to not get hit by them... oh no I hit something else"
