  1. Before: During: After: Yay more workbench space.
  2. Good work! I have a unit that does up/down for two windows (Directed T310 or something). Problem is that it is a bit too big to fit in the center console. I tested it and it works fine, but when it came to hiding the unit, ran into some trouble. Probably going to fit it behind the dash next time I have it out. That way I can also insulate it with foam so you don't hear the relays clicking.
  3. First time my car has seen this much snow, ever. It's always been a Bay Area car and I barely took it out into a snowy area. So glad I have winter mats in.
  4. Interesting. Here the only thing that's separately picked up is the compost bin. Recycling and trash are picked up at the same time at a fairly consistent time (Friday for me, ~10am). Compost bin truck arrives no more than an hour after that.
  5. Keep in mind some colors will not work. Orange and red won't work, for instance. Green filters it out. If you can find a car that can donate a similar size clear ring, you can do those colors.
  6. Built my i5-2500K rig. Gigabyte Z68AP-D3. 16GB Corsair DDR3. Reused my Corsair 64GB SSD, Lian-Li PC-6 case, video cards (dual head GeForce 8600 GTS, dual head ATi FireGL V3400), and PSU. I was going to reinstall Win7 from scratch, but then I accidentally let it boot up again and what would you know, 7 was able to automatically find all the new drivers. Back in the days with XP if you changed the motherboard to something with another chipset, everything would screw up. I'll eventually reformat, but setting everything up again will be a hassle. I either need to ditch the optical drive, or get a Lian-Li bezel that matches.
  7. I have a never-ending quest to get rid of noise. It seems like all cars this age will be noisy, though. A buddy has a similar vintage Lexus LS and even with those tight Japanese tolerances, it still makes noise. A friend's E34 5-series from that year is actually very quiet.
  8. Funny you mention that, I actually just put it into the car last week. Need to bump the resistance because it is too bright, and potentially change the color (gauge cluster LEDs are amber, these are orange, so there is a stark contrast). Got some OSRAM PLCC-2 SMD yellow LEDs today that will go in to replace it. Zero hot spots on the trip computer. Hot spots on the gauge cluster are bad because some of the LEDs are burning out (cheap drop-ins, replacing with a custom one with OSRAM LEDs).
  9. It was pretty bad. American Dad was better, but not by much. Are they getting lazy?
  10. Building a new workstation... figure it's time to go from the Athlon XP X2 6000+ to something more substantial. Looking at this: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1355286&csid=_34 The price for the motherboard is $69.99 AR (available separately without the combo), so it ends up being $180 for the i5-2500K. Is that a decent deal? Don't plan on overclocking it (want to keep the machine quiet, so want to run the fan low). Would an i7 be better idea?
  11. Saw this a few days ago and was blown away. Shit is unreal. Seeing the aurora borealis and thunder storms is insane.
  12. I have no idea what it is. Wheel within a wheel? Hub-cap over a wheel?
  13. Spotted in San Francisco's Bernal Heights. White 850R with tint, Volans and some stickers.
  14. Yeah, these will work. They won't be bright or provide any benefit over the stock bulbs. They will not provide any good coverage, either. It'll basically be a red circle.
  15. Speaking of problems with shipping companies. Have a product sample order (literally a sample, so not just a lie on the customs form) from Guangzhou coming in via DHL. Have had many shipments from Guangzhou and HK come by DHL Express, no problems at all. This one got stuck in LA customs as of last Tuesday. They are hoping it clears within 5 business days (today), but chances are they might need DOT approval. The DOT has been very bitchy about what kind of lights come into the US (even though D2S bulbs that are 4300K are legal). They should reserve this for the 9006/h3/h7/etc 8000K kits, not my products that are okay. UGH. Worst comes to worst, customs will seize the shipment and destroy it.
  16. Doubtful. The glass is anti-glare coated, so any kind of polishing would destroy that. I haven't seen any fillers for small scratches like these.
  17. FSCK MOFUGGERSSS.. Scratch on my 7D's LCD glass. Not user-replaceable and I was stupid to not have a screen protector on it. Not that big of a deal, but I'm still pissed. Had the camera since Feburary of last year and this is the first bit of damage to it.
  18. Hahhaha. You can see the kid laughing as he plows over them, too.
  19. The circles are etching from toothpaste. Also, the lighting is weird (white balance off). The large purple square is the skylight and the little blue orb is the camera flash.
  20. Toothpaste on marble floor = etched circles. That and through constant neglect, the marble floors (and some parts of the walls) have started to look dull. Got some aluminum oxide based polish and used my porter cable polisher. Before: After:
  21.  In case you are wondering why the side sections are not full height, it is because they are only used to stabilize the sides and will be used as an anchor for the top cover (which looks like the letter C).
