Did you just get back to Bremerton?
Pretty much, finally getting a chance to finish the engine swap I started before I left for Virginia 6 months ago
Hello (: Meet you at iPd maybe?
Welcome back from where ever you were!
Yup, I'll be at IPD and thanks!
Shut up and make me some carbon fiber stuff already
Hope you guys are doing good. Jason still overseas?
Dag nabbit I'll get back on the CF projects once my car is driving...and might have to wait until I'm done being sequestered! We're doing good though, you making it to IPD this year?
Jason should be back in port now, from what I saw on FB. Brett, how about more detail on where on the west coast? Shipyard pick you up, or no?
I'm back in town, working for the yard thats who sent me to norfolk. Actually saw you driving the other day in bremerton, wagon's looking nice, I was unfortunately driving dana's gold PT cruiser (worst car ever)
He makes cf stuff?
Jason, I am pretty sure, is back stateside.
I'm working on some CF projects but its been a slow process between finances and me living out of a hotel room for the last 6 months

Whats up guys, I've been gone for a bit but I'm finally back on the west coast! Hope everyone's doing well!

Better? lol

Bret you are right, there is a curse. One of the guys I work with blew the motor in his STI a few weeks ago.
I just read your "interests" for the first time. Its only cuz I love you that I'm gonna tell you it sounds pretty gay lol.
-
Well don't blow the 56, I may want to buy it off you once the 59's fixed lol.
-
Ouch...what'd you do, not gonna be easy to replace an m59 :-/
-
This coming from a guy who never posts!
true haha, in all fairness though I'm in VA for months (training for work here til march) driving a rental focus so I'm not really NWC or Volvo related currently, lol.
Hopefully I'll be running my swapped motor with my 50 trim next time you see me! Got it all in the car just need to put the wastegate and exhaust together, then button up the last few parts sitting in the garage, gonna try to finish when I'm home for christmas! And then autocross once I'm back in March (fingers crossed, seems every time I think I'm gonna run something goes wrong, but I'm replacing everything suspension related up from, with new motor and a new trubo so I should be good to go).
Warning to anyone in kitsap, we had 2 blown motors in a month (me and Misfitj03) and thats where George spun his bearings, I think its a curse!
Also I think Carson and I are gonna try to get a meet set up for Christmas time since I'm gonna miss XXX this year.

Man this forum is dead lately, andrew, glad to see you back!

Finally started at the shipyard, code 105.3. Just moved over to Port Orchard, Manchester area. Pretty nice place and a good sized one car garage, which is pretty much the only important part lol. Me and dana are talking about having a BBQ before I leave I'll keep ya up to date if we do!
-
What's up NWC, I've been without internet for quite some time after moving and I feel so outta the loop! Now to top things off my car had an oil cooler line blow while my GF was driving the car, combined with no oil pressure light so the bearings are spun (fortunately she knows enough to get off the road quickly when the engine makes metal on metal noises).

Omg... so many stickers. And worse, they have free Monster here
Holy crap! That would be like a $4 an hour raise for me if i worked there
-
So i just watched workaholics and it gave me a great idea for IPD hotel party next year, we need to commandeer an ice machine for the party room instead of filling up the sink with bucket loads! And if its the same staff that was there this year we can get away with anything!

Getting ready to go to the Chihuly Garden and Glass down at the Seattle Center (before it officially opens tomorrow), quite excited I'm taking my camera too, so hopefully I get some cool pictures!
I have to dress up, and dress "festive"... you know it's classy when you're not even sure what the dress code means
I hope you wore you Volvo Guys shirt, Its classy and festive in my opinion lol!

It'd be nice as an option whenever the components need replacing. That stuff is spendy to replace.
Is it even possible to disable the 4C through VIDA?
AFAIK You can disable it by installing the accelerometer on a set of coilovers, and wiring a resistor in place of the connection to the shock, but then you lose the advantage of 4c, so you can have coilovers it just doesn't retain the push button adjustability.
My Friends 91 240 SX SE KA24 Twin Cam (RARE!)
I'm Jelly.
Jelly of a 240sx? You know you could sell your c70 buy a 240 and have money left over, I don't recommend it by any means though haha.
-
Look at me I'm just like everyone else!!
Finally, I thought you'd never get a set of wheels that wasn't totally played, 17" pegs >>>>> VST's lol

So anyone ever have an engine you were doing a compression test on try to start?
I was doing wet compression, all the plugs out of the engine, ecu removed, crank the engine with oil in cyl. 1 and compression gauge attached, cranks twice then...BOOM!...followed by the engine turning over slowly about 4-5 times while I was not cranking it. At this point smoke is issuing from cylinder 3 (geussing exhaust valve was open and smoke was rising from the exhaust.
So after a second, try to crank it with no plugs, ecu removed, compression tester removed, doesn't turn over. Oh f@ck. Check the timing belt, still intact...crank it by hand and it turns freely...Ok so its not seized, check, try to crank it agian, wont turn over...OK I must have effed up the starter, so I mildly tap the starter with a block of wood and hammer incase the solenoid is stuck, crank it again...still wont turn over.
At this point I'm sure my starter blown, so reassemble everything and go to crank it, completely sure it wont turn over...Immediately it starts like it had never had an issue.
Still not sure what exactly happened, I figure it must have began to deisel on cyl 1 (which is odd because the plugs were a beautiful toasty brown with no signs of carbon build up) can't figure how it managed to turn over multiple times on its own, or why the starter wouldn't work until it was all re-assembled. WTF volvo, y u so crazy.
For some reason I no longer care what my wet compression numbers are lol!
-
You think I wasn't creeped out when I woke up? lol.
Such an odd night. So many wet dreams for no reason.
fixed it!

I wanna be on that show for my zombie survival plan, which is pretty much add more 1/4" steel plate to my jeep and buy more guns, and its more likely than what most of those people prepare for lol
-
I wouldn't want a Volvo or Rx-7, more like a resto mod Triumph GT 6 or Lotus Europa, and with the 100k I saved from not buying a db 9 I could make either of those faster around the track than a DB 9. Now it wouldn't be anywhere near the status symbol the Aston is but I lived in orange county most of my life and despise most of the people who drove those kinda cars, so I'm a little jaded Lol
-
"built not bought" Really? Who gives a monkey? If I bought a Bugatti would it not be as cool as your 850 wagon that you built? Ugh, I poking hate that term.
I disagree, I'd rather drive a car I put my heart into than a million dollar penis enlargement pill . Built not bought with a comparable price range, I would always rather build, give me a million dollars to build a car and I'll give you something way cooler than a Bugatti
-
On another note, look what they're bringing back for Skyfall!!! DB5=EPIC.
Hey look, it's that guy who wishes he was James Bond!
I need to stop showing up to Seatac so early, I'm always here like an 1.5hrs before my flight and every time I'm through security in 10 min, Damn overly efficient airport! Oh well I can always count on LAX to be inefficient on the way back
-
Hammy, I better see you at the track on Sunday!
Sorry, I'll be in CA, I have a wedding to be in (my friends are running me broke by constantly getting married in a location I no longer live)
-
My car is very drivable.
Pretty sure the roads in bremerton haven't been repaired since they went in, most places in the world I wouldn't mind being low, unfortunately where I live now just sucks.
-
My skidplate has saved me on numerous occasions.
I don't run one (being broke sucks) but I'm also a pansy who only goes low for special occasions (I like drivability more than style haha)
