  1. Success.... I have done the following: SAS delete, I removed the pump, and all hose and vacuum lines. I plugged the vacuum port on the sas valve, and the vacuum port on the manifold that feed the sas solenoid. Replaced the gas cap. I also Replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor. I have driven car for approx. 130 miles with no CEL. Just to recap, after I completed the SAS delete, I came up with 2 new codes which were Po302 and P0455. The P0302 I wasn't worried about but the EVAP code X@#@$XC. Not sure what I did to remove the evap code, just glad it's gone and stays gone. Thanks for everybody's assistance in getting this resolved. Now all I need to do is resolve where the oil is burning from and I will be done done. thanks, dave
  2. Why couldn't a resistive voltage divider be placed on the analog input that is the temperature input. if one knew the correct voltage level that equaled the temperature that is just below the temperature that keeps the ecu from testing for the evap. Would this prevent the evap code from being set? would setting the temp to a fixed temperature would this screw anything else up in the ecu or the running of the engine. I know this may be a crazy thought, but I was just sitting here and thinking about this possibility. Thanks, dave
  3. has anyone come up with a "EVAP delete" ?? cause I thru that code also and it might be due to the temp increasing with spring coming.
  4. Thanks to everyone that has helped me in the forum. I have completed the SAS Delete modification to my 98 Volvo and I have good and bad news to report. After driving for approx. 60 miles and the original code of 0410 ( I think that is the SAS code) has not returned, but my CEL is back on. After stopping at autozone the two codes I currently have are: P0302, and P0455. I would like to know if the modification I made for SAS Delete could cause these codes. P0455: EVAP code, When I made the SAS Delete mod, I removed the SAS pump, then I blocked off the port on the air cleeaner, Then I cut the hose the ran from the SAS valve to the SAS pump about 4 inches from the valve and plugged it off by slipping a bolt into the end of the hose. Question: What did I do wrong to cause this EVAP Code? P0302: Misfire on cyl #2, I am sorry if this part of my question is in the incorrect forum. But when I attempted to remove my plug wires to pull and check my spark plugs, When I pulled the wire off the plug it was very very hard to pull off. When it came out part of the rubber piece stayed down around the plug. So I attempted the next on ( the 2nd from the left) and the plastic stem that extends down to the plug pulled out of the wire end. I used needle nose pliers to pull the plastic stem out and re-attached it to the wire. I think this is what caused the code. Also the rubber piece stayed down around the plug. My question: How do I get that rubber piece out from down around the plug? I tried needle nose pliers and I only tore pieces of rubber off, I could not get the entire rubber piece out. I have other plugs and wires I would like to put on but I am stuck with this step? Thanks in advance for your help.
  5. thanks volvo5.0, i will update the post after i have the mod completed and tested. i am assuming if i do not have the tool to clear the code that it will clear itself after driving awhile.
  6. Thanks T5power, Can I assume that I also have the ECU version 4.4 or is there a way to verify this as well. Dave
  7. Hello, I have been reading this thread, I have a bad SAS pump. I see in the instructions that their is only 1 connector and 1 electronic box inside the plastic housing that holds the ECU. Mine has 2 inside that box, so which one would be the ECU that needs modified? I have one in the middle location and a second one in the location closest to the fender. Also how can I tell if I have the 4.4 ECU. I have a 1998 V70 AWD. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Dave
