I just sold my 90 760 turbo but when I had it I couldn't get it to stop detonating over 14 psi so I added water injection with 30 perc. meth. and I took the stoch maf and put in a larger housing to elimate fuel cut gutted the cat and with a rrfpr to add fuel that sucker was FAST! But that's on 20 psi. with 0 detonation and stock turbo ,little 13c! I've run david's 850r aka 850rrr many times with that brick!But that engine couldn't flow for stuff! A 13c holding 18psi to redline is proof.
  2. Actually thats what I was thinking! Boost pressure is directly related to a engines inability to flow.Of course if everything stays the same,like cfm rpm,etc..prob alot of the reason rods get bent is from detonation but I'm sure alot of cases is from overboosting and the backpressure from the small turbine and restrictive exhaust cause a sort of hydraulic lock sorta say of boost and piston can't squish what can't get out..I think some porting is going to def. help..I would like to see what kinda results from people that switch to the s60r exhaust manifold and go with a turbo with a larger turbine posted at the same time..lol

Thanks for all the positive responses for the people that did so.For now I think I'm going to try to get the most out of the stock turbo with a custom rica tune water meth injection and full 3 inch exhaust.To bad the exhaust housings are so small on the stock turbo's. I'm sure everytime someone post "how to make horsepower" thread something new comes out of it.I can promise you I'll be thinking up of something ;)
  4. Very true Rob! I know the limits of the rods and there not very highwhen you make mistakes ..We'll see .Oh and I don't think the fpr is controlled by the ecu,it's a fpr with a boost line going to it.The fuel pressure regulator I was referring to you can set the base fuel pressure at a idle and it would go upfrom there to compersate for a larger maf sending the ecu a lower signal. Rob who do you recommend for a custom tune with good customer service?

  6. 50/50 water meth should do fine to cool the intake..Iknow about the ecu pulling timing I data logged my 850r it's amazing how bad it pulls. Just would like to find out if the ecu pulls cause of the heat from the boost spike or the quick voltage spike a the maf sensor.I guess I'll find out when I get the WI. installed and do some data logging. 15psi boost spikes pulled timing down to 5 degrees and then it would climb back as the rpm went up.

  8. Darn MAF SENSORS LOOKS SMALL,,OK THAT'S GOOD NEWS THO.I have a stage one coolmist setup off my m3 with a m5 jet should be ok.I know the srt4 boys pick up alot of power from wi. Next I was thinking of getting a rrfpr to supplement a tune,I don't want bend another rod!been there done that!Joe have you ever trying tuning with just a rrfpr and a wideband? I'm not new just been playing around with my m3 for a few years
  9. What would be needed to acheive 300whp?Stage 0 is complete and I don't want no2!This is my third volvo,two 850r's and now a s70 t5 manual that is pretty Darn quick is stock form. Would the 16t effeicently enough with full exhaust?What about the rods and tuning?Speedtuning NOWAY!Is rica the only custom tuner?What about meth injection anyone tried it?Works wonders on turbo bimmers when tuned for it. One last question is the maf sensor is way small to flow any kind of cfm thru it and not max out.What a good way around it? Sorry for the rant,please only experienced awnsers! THANKS
