Also during WWI Turkey lost the Ottamen empire, and most of the Middle East oil and most of her glory was stripped by Britain and France. During both WWI and WWII due to the pressure of defeating the other side the Western world was force to learn new ways of killing each other, but during this time science also grew by leaps and bounds. How do you think the americans and russians when to space? They used German missile technology that was developed during the war. Scratch that crap. The reason the west is so much more advanced is because of education. It is education the separates the well to do and the poor. Especially in this country. After WWII it was the GI bill that help educate the masses that came from the military. If it was not for the GI bill America would have not been the power that you see today. Besides the country as a whole, I can see the special treatment I get due to my numerous years spent in school, that has finally (thank God) allowed me to enter Med school. I would say that is quite rash, who says muslims in general hate the United states? You know there are many muslims in the military and they serve their country with honor. For your first statement, I would say that FOX news also jumps all over radical stories because it sell's news. I would say both liberal and conservative media are at fault. For your second statement could you define fascist for me, I don't really know how you define it. I don't really believe that any one person or group of people can Hijack a religion. Islam is based on the Quran and Prophet traditions, just like Christainity is based on the Bible. It is the ideas and literature of the religion that define it not people. One thing that I have learned in life is that only when you do your own research do you really understand a topic. Just because someone says something it doesn't mean it's the truth. If one really wants to understand Islam one can easily go to any library and just read the first and second chapters of the Quran and judge for themselves. There is nothing in the Quran that says that. It does say to defend oneself if one is attack. But if you are attacked and the attacker asks forgiveness, that Quran states that the truely pious one is the one who accepts that apology and essentially turns the other cheek. As for a central leader in Islam there is such a concept which is called the Caliphet but there is too much in fighting right now for the Muslim people to accept one person a the Caliphet.

Well the Pope was quoting some byzintine leader from the 14th century saying some nonsense that the Prophet peace be upon him only brought war to the world, and faith thur the sword. This is of course stupid and false at the same time. But the fact that Pope did not say right after quoting that it was wrong, and this is not the church's view point now, is the reason that Muslims are upset. This Pope unlike the previous Pope is much more Hawkish on Muslims. As for the question of when muslims do something wrong they do not apologize. My question is who is going to do the apology? We have no central Leader like the Pope. One speaks for the muslims as a whole. If I do something wrong to anyone it is my responsiblity to apologize. If someone else does something wrong that's their fault not mine.
