    This unit went to a friend who lives in The Netherlands for testing. He has a highly built 850 AWD that he auto crosses in the dirt with. He has had continual issues with the factory cast angle gear case exploding upon launch when running the car locked 4WD. He setup the case himself with some help from me and he did a fantastic job!
     
    He was able to recently race the car. The case and drivetrain are holding up great so far! Looking forward to more racing.
     
    He is also making use of the forced pinon lubrication system which consists of an external oil pump. For his type of racing this likely isn't necessary (its meant more for cars that highway drive) but we figured it wouldn't hurt to run it.
     
    Specs:
    1. For use with 96-00 P80 with 96-99 gear set.
    2. 7075-T6 aluminum
    3. ARP 8740 case bolts
    4. Grade 12.9 flange to transmission studs
    5. Crush sleeve eliminator
    6. All factory seals + Timken bearings
    7. Factory gear set
    8. Factory collar sleeve
     
    Improvements:
    1. Reduced seal bore diameter for tighter fit with metal seals
    2. Improved M6 bolt recesses

    My M66 swap won't be done until summer at this point...so that will debut next year.

    So excited for this year. Hoping it won't rain of course...because that sucks. Nothing new for my car this year unfortunately, but next year should have tune, m66, and exhaust so thats neat.

    SO this is apparently unlocked!

    Quick update...still not M66 swapped! Been busy focusing on other things. I still hope to get all the parts together for it and drive up to Ben to have it done.

    In my absence, I have done a few other things to the R. Kaplan rear coilovers with QA1 rear shocks, Snabb RIP kit, and I have a P2R fuel rail cover to clean up/paint and throw on as well. 

    I posted in the off topic thread a while back about this, but I also installed a DO88 radiator and Ebay drop in IC.

     

    My current inventory for the M66 swap is

    • P1 M66
    • Shifter and cables
    • x70 pedal assembly
    • 99 XC passenger axles
    • Flywheel
    • Pressure plate

    I still need a drivers axle, brackets, seals, fluids, all the other misc parts, and a Ford Probe clutch.

    When I get it tuned (Steve-o), I'm thinking 18psi. If that's the case, I'll probably upgrade my 19T with billet comp wheel, 9blade turbine, and Kinuguawa WG actuator. Maybe a Synapse CBV/BOV.

    This years Carlisle was still a good time despite the rain tbh. Every year gets better as my friends get more organized on what works and what doesn't for camping.

    Next year I reallllly hope to have the M66 done. We shall see, but enough excuses!
