Mark, I feel like you are my brother in some way haha. Except my rod bender was a 16t and I have a high compression engine :(
  2. Dave only the newer cars will do that. I believe your Wastegate should be at around 7 psi. Be careful when you do this. What happens is if you have it set too low it will exhuast the gas spinning the compressor sooner so you wont make as much pressure. When you tighten the rod it will not exhuast the gas until later due to the more tension on the rod.
  3. Yeah they make kits for the mini though, so it isn't really tough.
  4. I don't know, get the right turbo and your spool issues won't be too bad. Not to mention. There are plenty of cars that make good all around power with just one big turbo. Like was said before. I think it would be interesting in the (what if) department, but alot of work, and not really worth it IMO.
  5. I beg to differ. Be careful, that's all I can say, is be careful.
  6. hehe, I ran closed wastegate on my old 13g... but thats different. haha It had 150k miles on it... what a good little turbo :)
  7. Im very sorry to hear this are you going to yank the mods? Might as well try to make some money off of it :-\
  8. who needs to expell those gasses anyways... the more you expell the less you make!!! I think he was kidding heh like me.
  9. im honestly wishing I had the money, I wanted these wheels before I picked up my current ones, granted I still like mine, I just cant fork the money out now :(
  10. zazzn how 'bout a better wastegate in general?
  11. I'm not saying that a laggier turbo is bad or even a more efficient one. But if you slap a gt35r on the car with nothing done to it ... you are going to pay. I do also agree that more efficient boost is better for rods even in general, and that heat is a killer for engines.
  12. John, port the housing outlet on the turbo. Maybe port the manifold side too. Maybe even look into a super 60 wheel. I know thats what I'm doing now, if nothing else porting the manifold side a bit. You really aren't going to want something pushing huge CFM on stock rods. When you start getting into the higher CFM ranges of bigger turbos our rods bend like toothpicks under a fat lady :-\ (especially untuned)
  13. do you know if they clear the porsche bbk?
  14. Well an RRFPR gets a boost line, and will raise the fuel pressure as the positive pressure rises. The stock FPR is controlled by the ECU (though it may be indirect)
  15. I believe you would need something to control the map input and put it to use. Due to the fact that the car is MAF controlled, and therefor most all aspects of fuel and air control are MAF based.
  16. well an RRFPR is adjustable. But technically the ECU controls the fuel pressure for the stock FPR, where as an RRFPR is a standalone piece of the the puzzle. BTW waterinjection works fine on the car. I am installing the WB02 soon to see what difference it makes... Also going to install some temp sensors before IC, after IC and after my WI jet.
  17. Good luck on the sale(s). Any pics of the car? I want a e30 m3 hard core...i just dont have the money :(
  18. Those wheels could SO be worse... like bigger and more chromier. And spinning.
  19. hmm... the orig poster fails to see that we are only trying to help by figuring out what his car really is :-\ Sorry guy, but we mean no disrespect but we cant help you based on the fact that it has an R badge and some other things that the dealer told you. Remember we are trying to help, with out proper info it is impossible.
  20. good luck with your compression results guy.
  21. Umm, what is broke about it? Not only is your title vague but your description as well... do you actually want help?
  22. you are in the chitown area? whereabouts? yeah you can come. hehe ofcourse :)
  23. yeah I'll call you back tomorrow... super busy today :-\ I think I can make it... probably wont be for long... may have the gf with
