  1. Ahh...Bill Ayers .. Well this being said "One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter". Not to promote Ayers, but Ayers was an anti-war activist. He stood for anti-corruption and democracy in its purest form. Sure he was involved in bomb-plots but in other nations, that is considered nothing short of a hero..Fidel Castro was a hero to those who wanted change in Cuba to end corruption in the late 1950's..unfortunatley he FAILED. Look at Obama's mentors..MLK, Malcolm X, Mohandas Ghandi, etc..these are all extremists to some ponit, but men who died for a cause and men who werent affraid to initiate action. Its understandable that Obama admires this quality, as he is one to initiate action himself. I give the man credit for sticking to his guns, I just do not agree with his followers.

Look I voted for McCain. I watched Obama. I researched Obama and I did not like his left wing ideas. I like to consider myself a moderate, but I have to take issue with this sticking to his guns. I saw him flip flop on so many issues it wasn't even funny. What is more odd, is that the media NEVER called him on it. Hmmmm.

  2. the electoral college was a landslide, not nearly Reagan vs Carter but Obama won by 200 votes, not the 25 or so that bush won by both times. (edit: 5 in 2000 and 35 in 2004)

It was a landslide because of how the electoral college is setup. Like was said before the Popular vote was NOT a landslide.

  3. I say again: Al Franken? WTF! Minnesota should secede to Canadia

I saw that too. What the hell is he gonna do? Sit in a room with Obama and a mirror and say, "I'm good enough. I'm smart enough. And dog gone it, people like me."

But seriously, that's the same state that elected Jesse "the Body" Ventura as their governor, so are you THAT surprised.

  4. I think this race came down to more who did you want for VP...

Since both of them will probably die in office.

So... Palin or Biden. Kind of a no brainier.

That's a good idea. Pick a PRESIDENT with 0 experience, because the more qualified candidate picked a VP with less experience. For me the choice was made on issues and not because of who he picked. I would rather a VP get OTJ training than the leader of the free fucking world. Granted if McCain had kicked the bucket, Palin would have been in, but Obama is in no matter what now.

And, frankly I can't believe the amount of ignorant comments I've seen on this site about this election. You all drive Volvos, common now, you're supposed to be intellectuals. In the past I've voted either way, democratic, republican, but what I can't stand is people believing all of the BS they've been fed these last few months.

It seems that the republican party is in a very difficult spot right now. What happened to the intellectual republican? Upholding real American values, those practiced by the founding fathers, constitution etc.? It seems that now the republican party caters to the Bible belt. And what have we learned from history that mixing church and state has taught us?

Right now, I'm proud to be an American. I haven't said that in a long time. We should be very proud of ourselves - we made an incredible statement to the world with this election. In a way, I think we've 'redeemed' ourselves in the eyes of many other nations.

The young people have spoken, and I think we chose a damn fine president last night.

Now I have to go to class,

    cheers,

That's the problem. The young people who have very little clue about the real world elected the president. That and all of the black people who came out to vote for a black candidate. Call me racist. But all I heard last night was people being interviewed who were more concerned about voting for a black man because of the color of his skin and not his stance on the issues, which flip flop like crazy. I keep hearing that it was a priviledge and the Civil Rights fight, blah, blah, blah. I am by no means diminishing the dispicable acts that occurred in the 60's. But all have had the right to vote since 1965. Where have they been for the past 43 years. Didn't want to vote because it was white people running. But I am called racist for thinking this. Whatever. I am so over it.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am the furthest thing from a racist there is, but I am sick and tired of the race card being played when it is convenient for you. I have no problem voting for a black man. I would have loved to vote for Colin Powell. I just didn't want to vote for this black man.

thats exactly what happened to me. i made my choice very early, was totally happy, drank the wine and then the VP choices came out. boom it was over. had to make a decision i wasn't prepared for.

    Sorry to hear that Mike.

Yup, we successfully voted into office a man with almost 0 morals according to his voting record. Hooray America. I'm just SOOO proud to be an American right now.

Couldn't have put it any better myself. Thank God there are some sane ones left around here.

Ron Paul is slightly more sane Ross Pero. Walking past a Ron Paul rally is enough reason not to vote for him; what's the old adage? Birds of a feather flock together?

Huckabee was the answer for me.

    I liked Huckabee.

  5. If and when McCain kicks the bucket, do you want her as your president? If you don't mind, then no problem, but if you feel uneasy then you might think twice.

This pick is also insulting to women. Does McCain think women are this stupid? Will they vote for this women just becasue she is a lady?

Why would I feel uneasy about this? Because she has no experience? And what does Obama have? 3 years in the Senate?

And this is different from voting for Obama because he is black how?

But to get back on-topic, yes Palin is a hottie mommy.

I don't know ANYTHING about road bikes, but I know Moots is fucking money. By Money I mean super cool and super fucking expensive. I would have loved to have one of their mountain bikes though. Just couldn't justify 2k+... on an essentially hard tail... frame only... 5 years ago. They are probably 5k now.

One of the first collegiate races I did, a teammate crashed, broke his seat clean off but still finished the race, eventhough his bibs had torn and half his nutsack was hanging out. He never sat down for the second 1/2 half of the race and was so tired when he ended the race, he could not walk on his own!

    That is hardcore.

    Not a surfboard, a skateboard.

Bought it yesterday. Pretty fun so far.

    Oh. Okay. Cool. I think.

  8. Riding a bike without the seat is a crime? Who'da thought.

My college roomate had to do that once. After he got hit in the balls. He was riding home from class one day and the wierdest thing I have ever seen happened. The front bolt on his seatpost gave out and sent the saddle flying up and back straight into his balls. Once he recovered he had to ride the whole way home on a bike with no saddle. I only saw the aftermath. I would have paid to actually see the saddle break. That would have been a YouTube moment.

Just washed the car, did some laundry, and messed around with my new longboard. Goodnight!

I didn't know you surfed. I tried once in Fort Pierce on the Atlantic Coast's dinky ass waves. I sucked, so I quit and drank a beer. Maybe THAT'S why I am fat.

  9. I should've figured that you would've seen it already. Came across it hitting the Random button on the comic's page.

Were have you been, haven't seen you post in a little while, or is it just my imagination.

I've been in OT lately. Working on parting out the R and then selling it. Trying to work out a deal right now for a new Daily Driver. Will release details if and when I can finalize the deal. It won't be another Volvo I will tell you that though. Work has been busy and I have been trying to spend more time with my girls. Gots to get my priorities in order. You can hit me up in IM whenever though man.

  10. Are those BB-7 calipers on the Iron Horse? They work well.

I have had Oury grips (blue bike). Very cushy. I'm partial to Salsa grips, too.

I used to ride Oury's. Now I ride nothing but Salsa's. The Salsa's are just so much more streamlined.

  11. I drive 100 miles a day, so I try to run it out to about 5-6k miles between changes. If I change my oil every 3k miles, I'll be changing it like every month. I had about 5k on this.

I was changing mine monthly when I was driving 120 miles a day. Of course mine was mostly highway miles, but still. I am just anal and paranoid, so I would do it every 3,000.

Exactly, they are driving around in a friggin circle, if you have to cheat at that then you suck!

    nd_gosh2.png

Grant, you and I are cool, but that is the DUMBEST thing you have ever written. Going in a circle is one thing. Going in a circle at upwards of 180mph with the next car just INCHES from you takes some skill. I would suck at it, you would suck at it, 99.9% of the people on this board would suck at it.

  13. You know half those rednecks will never follow rules, no matter what you do, so just kick them out.

You do realize that the majority of the drivers, crew members, team owners, etc, etc, etc are NOT rednecks. They are very smart people with very cool jobs. I am a redneck, so I don't take offense to the word, but I hate it when people just lump everyone who likes or works in NASCAR into the redneck category. I mean come on, how in the hell are you going to call JPM, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Casey Mears, Boris Said, etc, etc rednecks. Now Dale Earnheardt Junior is a redneck through and through. But he is one of the very few left.

  14. exactly...lets not blame coporations for once...

cheating is due to some scum bag that wants to win above everything else...its that scumbag that should be punished...

I will agree that it is the scumbag cheating (my guys crew chief has been caught once or twice), but it is totally a corporate America/sponsorship issue that these teams are not suspended for a whole race.

I will say this, my driver (Kevin Harvick) was a hothead when he came into the sport. He was getting out of control. NASCAR suspended him for a race and his nose has been MUCH MUCH cleaner since then. he ahs matured. Make these teams sit and watch from home one weekend and you can nip this whole cheating thing in the butt. NASCAR will never do it because of the sponsors. There would be an enormous backlash.

  15. 42 ish :D

it sucks for uphill, and the rolling resistance on pavement SUCKS enough that i slow down while going DOWNHILL (slight grades). it was worse with 50 compounds

throw a mazocchi freeride or a nice fox 125 ont he front of that heckler and go nuts, those bikes are amazing.

i know more people ride here, post up!

Damn. That shit is huge. I would love to get another Marzocchi and just move my Atom Bomb to the single speed. I gots to find the money first and the motivation to ride more second.
