  1. No offense, but Id put a significant amount of money down that you wont without the help of forced induction. Your talking 245-250ish hp crank to get 190 wheel. Stock is what, 160 crank?
  2. 3500 is where you should start spraying, at anything less on these cars your just begging for a grenaded engine.
  3. If your going to get a performance ecu upgrade, keep in mind what it actually does to increase performance. Its definately going to advance your ignition timing, and most likely lean you out a bit, both which can create more power. Then keep in mind what octane rating actually is, the resistance to preignition. Both advancing your timing and leaning out your fuel mixture will cause an increase in likelyhood of detonation in hotter weather and more aggressive driving. If it were me, I wouldnt use 87 on a chipped car, except if its in the wintertime where you are going to have a cooler air intake charge and thereby reduce the chances of detonation and preignition under load.
  4. +1, Variable Area Turbine Nozzle turbos are the future, if they can give the car immediate low end boost, and not cause a parasitic loss like a supercharger, they would be the power adder of choice in the future.
  5. Already done with nitrous and boost :)
  6. Its a pretty good video, its about time that a company has come out with a real performance package for the 850's, like others have said, ive gotten much more performance for a bit less, but for a newcomer to the volvo 850/s70 world, a bolt on kit like this is nice to see. Does anyone else think that the guy on the vid looks and sounds just like Micheal Showalter from the series "Stella" and the movie "The Baxter?"
  7. Sorry man, but when our life on earth is complete, our brains will not be functioning therefore all of our senses and consciousness will cease to exist, and our sense of being will be nonexistent.
  8. Man all those s40 guys actually take this place seriously, whats up with the personal attacks on someone based on car they drive? I take every negative comment as either constructive criticism or just as a laugh.
  9. A friend of mine had the exact same problem with his autometer, I actually the problem except its one pound off of zero, anways he sent it into autometer and they fixed it for him no charge except for shipping
  10. From what I hear, the OEM coppers gapped down a bit are the best, never used them though. Champion Rc7yc worked well in my car they are 2 heat ranges colder than stock, right now im using NGK BKR7E, which is one heat range colder than stock, I like the NGK's the best. If you really want colder you can go with NGK Iridiums BKR9EIX I beleive, but Iridiums are overpriced and you risk breaking off the tiny little electrode tip and causing serious engine damage. If the BKR7E's are not working for you, id say to look in to whats causing the problem, because its not the spark plugs.
  11. Wow im kicking myself in the jerk for not going, my job with all weekend hours sucks
  12. Nice Hatch! What does it run with 300wheel, turbo im guessing? The R's cool too by the way :P
  13. I am going with Corbeau seats, the reason Im asking is because I need a manual drivers seat to use the bracket and slider from.
  14. Ya I figured much on the s70, anyone know if a 1st Gen S40 seat would bolt in? Airbags are not a concern since i just need the bracket and slider part of the seat.
  15. Just curious if anyone knew if a seat from a 1st gen s40 or s60 or s80 would bolt into the stock seat locations for an 850. Im pretty certain that a s70 or c70 seat will fit, thanks!
  16. Yes the rear fender is pretty thick, and the plastic makes it harder, A baseball bat alone did not work, I had to use this method which uses a easy to control factory style jack and a 2 or 2.5 inch pipe. I dremeled off the plastic fender, although you can use a heat gun to remold it up Take a look here for the method I used, it works great with minimal effort. http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1745791.phtml
  17. Prasamin knows where to get the longer lugbolts I believe. For 15mm though, i think its too much money and hassle and barely any difference, might at well go 1" especially if you have 205 tires. I cant imagine youd have to roll anything with 205 tires and 15mm, you also may not need any rolling or just a tiny tiny amount even with the 1" spacers.
  18. Darn then mine are a good deal then!
  19. Very good point, thanks man, and you also can use your stock lugnuts, no need to buy a longer set, you just need to shorten the head of the lugnuts so that they are shorter than the head of the spacer, took me about an hour to do with a circular saw and a composite metal cutting blade.
  20. Thanks man, its even better in person, the crappy pics cant explain! Yes tons less understeer, and I lengthened the endlinks for more oversteer, its just amazing now, I never thought the car could handle this well, and I still have the stock sway up front, but the IPD sway in the rear. The car just feels more solid and stable too, but its probly from the endlinks as well. You can fit the 1 inch spacers on the stock fenders, you just have to roll the lip up and youll be fine. I dont roll Hatian style, ive had people in the back seat maybe 5 times in the past 2 years so nothing to worry about with more weight in the back.
  21. Yes I rolled the $hit out of the fenders :)
  22. Its only the beggining The endlinks and spacers have renewed my love for the car, so now I have a psychological excuse to keep throwing money at this heap of a money pit.
  23. They were 290 for the set, ViperVette: if you want them I can sell them for half the price, minus a little because they were installed, so 140 for the other pair, I can negotiate though, PM me if your interested.
  24. Right now only the back has the spacers in, I had the fronts on the car for a minute but they stuck out wayy to far. Maybe with some 205 tires it could work, I have 225's all around, but that may defeat the purpose handling wise.
