A comment on a lockpiking video ......interesting Everyone goes through some rough patches, in 25 more days I'll hit a full 365 days of unemployment, I'm overwhelmed with bills but I would never be able to live with myself knowing that I'm ripping people off. It always amazes me what some people can do and still go on with daily life. Even though I'm not involved, the general douchery of the whole situation is enough to piss anyone off. I hope one way or another it works out for everyone.

About the detcan..... I was searching in google and someone made an electronic one out of a hearing aid and regular headphones. They put the mic on a clamp though which I don't think is ideal for testing while driving. I thought about it and if you could put the mic inside the larger copper piece on your setup and seal wires into the smaller tube. Run it to the box and then run the headphone jack with an adapter to RCA's and put it on an input on a headunit then you could listen through the stereo. ;)

AFR's look good, did you have to play with it a lot after the MAF swap? All this really makes me lust for TT :P

has anyone had a turbo fail on these cars? because I know at my old job a turbo went on a 2001 F-450 and when it did it looked like a seen from cheech and chong(kinda like my car now)

just got home and pulled the heat shield off from the turbo. all around the compressor side is wet with oil, seem to be coming fro the first coupler. didn't do compression check yet because now after I seen the oil on and around the turbo I'm thinkin maybe could be a seal in the turbo itself, because I know when a turbo seal goes alot of smoke is soon to follow. still dosen't explain the oil cap leaking soo bad

Update: Got the new seal from the dealer and put it on, pulled the dipstick to look for puffs of smoke, not much smoke but there is definatly pressure there no vac. If I put my finger over the dipstick hole for a sec and then move it I could feel it blow out a little. I looked all over and there is no sign on any oil on the motor other that around the oil cap, but the elbow that goes into the intake right before the turbo is cracked( see pic). Could this cause the PCV system to not work correctly? going to do a compression test in a few hours. I need to go to a job interview first ......Need money to fix the prob right

I got volans sittin in my closet, with no tires. My girlfriend LOVES that Once I get tires the steelie are going into my garage until it snows I'm going to try to get my car to my garage tomorrow without getting pulled over for polution. Then it time to steal my girls truck and head to the dealer for a new oil cap and seal (I think I read on here befor that the seal comes with a new cap). Then it back to the garage to do a compression check change the cap clean the F out of the top of the engine and hope that solves it. (Fingers crossd)

Def. understood just letting you know i wasen't a "e-chanic" It just freakin me out. I know the oil cap seal is a problem cause i checked that first and its like a hard peice of plastic, I would assume it started life as rubber. but over and above that it seems like it would take alot of pressure to push out that much oil in 3 days, therefore I asked about PCV

I make a note to look under the hood to check fluids at least once a week. I was under the hood like 3 days ago and there was nothing

The smoke got worse as i continued to drive today and the I got a CEL ( same as the other post after he put seafoam in his tank), o i decided to look under the hood . the whole area around the oil cap is covered I mean COVERED in oil. I think that may be the cause for sooo much smoke because it looks like the oil is running down the back of the block. Does this mean it time to do the PCV, and if so is it possible that the cleaner cause it to go or is it just ironic

I put a bottle of snap fuel system cleaner in my last tank of gas 4 days ago and it has been smokin like a pig since. I figured it was just the cleaner burnin off since i put it in a half-tank of gas. Filled up the car today figurin that it would stop it, drove around for awhile to clear the lines out. It got better but still smokes ALOT. ITs just white smoke, like when you use sea foam but it puffs out after I give it gas and the let off. I just called SHELL since they own snap and left a message since noone wanted to talk to me.

because it is not expensive to repaint the wheels if you do it yourself. filling in scratches, prep, and paint for all 4 wheels= maybe $50( If i change my mind about colors alot) 4 New tires- installed and ballanced= $500 see my point. that and Im bored

True it does look badass on CJ's wagon but I don't know how the smaller spokes on the volans will look. Screw it, only one way to find out. I could always go ricer and do 'em white :D

I realized yesterday that I can not afford tires for my volans yet so I have decided to refinish them. Question is what color should I make them I like the anth., but bright silver does look good on a darker car, or I could just get silly and paint them black. I think the black would give it a nice look, but it could also look like shite
