  1. So basically it looks like there are 3 options here? 1 - use old bracket, modify it to accept new (mechanical) tensioner - use old-style PS pump and lines, but find different (non-OEM Volvo length) timing belt. 2 - use old bracket, use old style hydraulic tensioner and PS pump, bolt up to RN engine. 3 - use new bracket, use new style mechanical tensioner, use new (99+) steering pump and new style PS lines. Is that right? If switching over to 99+ style PS pump, what else would be needed besides the lines?
  2. How'd you clean that block, it looks great!
  3. The Alpines are nice, but there's something about French hatchbacks that I love. Maybe an early 205 GTI...mmmm. It's too bad the Delta Integrale's are so overpriced nowadays (Italian, I know .
  4. Nice. One of these days I'll be calling you to find me an R5 Turbo though.
  5. too bad this photo is low res, made it my desktop anyways. another one.
  6. I meant more about asking behind the counter. Michigan got one of the meth registry programs last year, you're only allowed to buy a certain amount of the "good stuff" every day. You have to sign your name in the registry each time you buy a pack of Mucinex. Annoying, but probably a good thing.
  7. Mike, I'll see your LOLCat and raise you:
  8. Are they all-seasons? Make sure you aren't buying summer tires for snow use
  9. If they're that low mile, sure. I bought my snow tires used with 5K miles, and my summer tires were 100-mile takeoffs.
  10. Get some traffic cones, spray paint them with stencilled letters of the apartment company or "no parking", and you'll never be blocked again.
  11. If a big reason for the new format was to eliminate the clutter and make it much easier to browse through what's actually available, the ability to keep sold items alive runs counter to that purpose. That way it's pretty clear, that if it's still listed in the forum, it's available. I'd actually think a locked comment (or only allowing supporters to comment) would work pretty well to solve some of this too.
  12. That's what I'm saying...I don't think the thread actually disappears when an item is sold, which is odd. For example I bought this FMIC kit, and the comments kept on rolling in well after the purchase. Link
  13. Hey Chuck, is there some way to set the For Sale feed to delete the item once it's been purchased automatically? I've been seeing a lot of "if the sale falls through let me know" type posts on sold items.
  14. I don't have your number lol...was visiting friends for the weekend.
  15. Spotted: John (JVC), you were driving on Randolph in downtown Chicago on Friday night. I was walking, I guess you didn't hear me over that OBX exhaust.
  16. You missed my point. Sure, Ebay gives you more exposure per se. But it doesn't cost you anything to list it for sale here. Nothing is preventing you from listing in both places. If it sells here, you'll pay a lower final value fee. If it doesn't, no harm done, you won't have to pay anything.
  17. That's dumb. Chuck isn't charging you to list your items for sale. Last I checked Ebay listing fees are .50 for a basic BIN with no extras, for 30 days. Add a subtitle, extra pics...and you'll be over a few dollars listing fees right off the bat. And that's with the powerseller discount. For average joe's it's more. And it sure seems that the final value fees on VS are less than Ebay as well. Personally I'll take the free listing in the VS auction (captive audience) and pay the fee if it sells. If I'm going to have to pay a final value fee of sorts anyways I'd rather it go back to this site than Ebay. People always gripe and moan when changes are made to the old way of doing business. Should I link back to all the threads from the past few months where people are asking for accountability? This is how you do it. Besides, what will this cost you in the long run? It's better for buyers, and unless you are routinely selling multiple thousand dollar items the fee structure is reasonable.
  18. Someone should arrange to "buy" some of his parts for sale on that site, and then when you go to pick them up he should be served with civil papers. That's what I would do. How far into the legal side are you guys? I wouldn't expect much help from the AG's offices, they are understaffed, overworked, and have far greater problems than a guy scamming a few of you online. Not to diminish the significance of what this guy has done, but don't bet on finding relief there. I don't know how much money is at stake here, but it seems that you should be able to get this into federal court on diversity jurisdiction considering that he scammed people from different states.
  19. I'm on there somewhat frequently, mostly as a lurker. VWVortex and Swedespeed are owned by the same media company, so maybe we could use that as a way in too.
  20. Guys, Looks like Sean is busy selling his stuff on VWVortex. His last activity over there was just a couple days ago, and as recently as 2 weeks ago he was selling items there. His username is the same (L8 APEKS) and his profile page is here.. Might not be a bad idea to just start posting in all of his threads that he's ripping people off or call it to the Vortex moderator's attention. Edit: Here are all of the threads he has started lately. Thread list I haven't taken the time to read through all of this thread and maybe someone has already done this. But I thought you all might want to know. Good luck.
  21. Turbo parts are expensive. That is all.
  22. that's a 960 iirc, isnt he on t-bricks?
