  1. pun intended? I've had the same problem. Every 6-8 months my Sony's break, at 20 bucks a pop. It's almost expected. But you get what you pay for I guess.
  2. my dashboard started creaking....ugh and I thought I was immune. Sounds like it's coming from the dashboard door....if I leave it open no creaks.
  3. maybe you'll get it, decide you don't like it, and trade me?

  6. QUOTE (matt b @ Nov 5 2008, 03:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>They won't have 60, there will be filibusters. true, but there's a strong possibility centrist republicans like Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe from Maine will join with Dems on a lot of the major issues, breaking the fillibuster
  7. 108K...about 25MPG with 75% highway driving. City alone it drops down to 20/21 and I meant hot chocolate, I don't drink coffee lol
  8. if all you want is blue lights that is easy: just speed through a red light or something

  12. even with your edited post, I think you are still coming off quite prejudiced. If they were Asian or white and did the same thing, would you have singled them out as "Illegals?" Probably not. I understand that you are pissed about the car - I know I would be fuming also. And it sucks because you don't have someone to take responsibility for it, because they ran away. But for all you know one of them had a warrant out for arrest or they had drugs on them, and that's why they ran away. And while you might be right that they are illegals, some circumstantial evidence like they said "no police" and had non-US IDs hardly proves that case.
  13. sorry about the car and glad you're ok. how did you know they were illegal? Are you just assuming that because they ran they were not legal residents? Might want to be careful how you frame things.
  14. and in Europe that's an option if you don't want cloth on your base

  18. plus 1 to that. On my laptop previews totally froze Firefox. Back to master skin for me.
  19. Click Really interesting article from the New York Times about the business of spy photgraphy.
  20. actually someone probably did hide just to get that shot. The photographer probably made anywhere from 10-25 thousand dollars depending on how many auto magazines bought it from him/her and how "in-demand" knowledge about this car is to the people who publish those magazines. Less torque than a HMMWV though chuck ;)
  21. lol was that car over on woodward? I've seen it before.
  22. I did, did you know that 74% of statistics are made up on the spot?
  23. from wikipedia: While production of the standard Beetle continued, a Type 1 variant called the Super Beetle, produced from model year 1971 to 1979 (1302s from 1971 to 1972, and 1303s from 1973 onwards), offered MacPherson strut front suspension, better turning radius (despite having a 20 mm (3/4 in) longer wheelbase), and approximately double the usable space in the front luggage compartment, due to the stretched "nose" of the vehicle and relocation of the spare tire from a vertical to a horizontal position. The Super Beetle was improved in 1973 to include a different dashboard shape (the padded dashboard appears on some 1302s models also) and a more aerodynamic curved windshield for more driver visibility.
