  1. what a fuckin day.... so last night i went to bed around 11 or 11:15, and this morning i wake up around 7 with a bit of a backache. thinking it was just a pulled muscle or a pinched nerve i put some ice on it. didn't help. went and took a hot shower. didn't help. more ice and a glass of water. neither helped. tried sitting down and lying down on either side, nothing helped ease the pain.

getting worse and worse, the pain started spreading around my stomach and was getting so bad i couldn't even think. ended up throwing up from being so uncomfortable. and of course not having health insurance, emergency room was the last resort. called my family members to see what i could do but to no avail. ended up going to the ER doubled over in pain (i have a pretty high pain tolerance but it was just unbearable). put me on some kind of morphine drip for the pain and it definitely helped. went through a CAT scan and turns out i have a kidney stone. all that shit for a 2mm stone. i'm sure it's gonna feel wonderful when that passes. they gave me a script for percocet and flomax to help with passing it and the pain. rough day today.

Sweet. That'll only be $5,000-$6,000. The best part is you will have simultaneous bills for everyone who talked to you.

As far as medical debt, as long as you're paying something every 30 days you will be OK. Even if they refuse to setup a payment plan.

  2. what car? i've only ever dealt with it on the c70 and it wasn't hard at all... granted i pulled the whole window cassette out, but the glass was just held onto by some brackets (tighten to hold it, not like drilled through or anything).

Just her POS Corolla. Apparently, this happens often to Lexus cars and the dealers are raping people for $600-$800 to fix.

  3. Front side window glass on my wife's car popped out of the frame this morning. WTF? It came off the track but didn't crack. I haven't pulled the door apart but hopefully it's not too hard to get it back in the track.

Anyone ever deal with this before? I did a quick google but didn't come up with anything quality.

  4. 29 Gauge is actually one of the tiniest needles available (Larger gauge, the thinner the needle), you should see what a 18 gauge needle looks like.

Having used an 1.5x18 a number of times, I'll go ahead and agree with this. 29 gauge you're still in insulin needle territory. 18 looks like an f-ing lance or something. Paired up with a 20cc syringe is enough to make me want to pass out.

  5. He was giving you a hard time because you look like a punk.

Sounds like a pretty much BS stop to me. Probably was bored and just picked on you for driving a modified car. You have to understand that most people don't understand what most of us do about cars and the groups of people who mod them. Things are more stereotypical when you are under-educated about certain topics.

  6. I'm still on the fence about it, what do you have in mind?

You're probably not up to it but I figured I'd mention it..

I'd be willing to part with my setup. Either the whole thing or just take parts like the glass and use your own gear.

Stuff available would include the kicks w/ comps and the 5.1 system, but not the 7" subs or the flipout, though I don't want any

    of the other processors/brains.

  7. Yeah, the funny (for lack of a better word) thing is. Sean has traveled ALL over the world. He spent months in the worst parts of Africa. Spent the last 5 years in NYC and just moved to SF last month to what is seamingly a "safer" city. Obviously there are whacko's everywhere and this could happen anywhere. It's just kind of odd. It is nice to know that people give a shit and saved him. I wish I could shake their hands and buy them a beer.

and yet people act like I'm crazy for carrying everywhere.

  8. 3 10's or 2 12's is the question, I'm considering adding a lot of thump.

I love the sharp accuracy of 10's but the deep, overwhelming thud from a 12 is desirable as well.

I'm considering Infinity Reference series in both sizes. Measuring the trunk the box for 3 10's would fit in perfect so that I could still open my spare tire well trap door as I do now.

    Ugh, damn it.

Insurance money = PDR, 2 way alarm/remote start, Koni fronts/inner tie rods, huge system and AWD rear bumper/exhaust work?

I could save some of it too I suppose but where's the fun in that. :monkey::o

I def. want everything but the alarm setup and system but I could live with them as well.

Edit: I'll probably end up ditching the system and putting some back for safe keeping. With the new job starting here soon I'm going to have a lapse in pay for about a week and need to make sure I stay afloat.

If you're actually looking to get an impressive system let me know. I have something you may like.

  9. One of the yellows my parents bought came with wheel locks but we couldn't find the key for it. All my dad had to do was take a socket that fit snug over it and just lightly hammer it on. Came out no problem. haha

Most people do it that way. Like this:

But there are also specific tools made for removing them that many tire shops have on hand. Like most things, anyone can buy them.

My sensors can be set to either 1 or 3 degrees of tilt. I don't remember what I have it set to, but I tested it and only got two pumps up on a hydraulic quick jack, not the sketch widow makers most wheel thieves will have. Every time I park, it waits 30 seconds for the car to settle and then uses that angle as it's current measurement. If it changes from that because the car is getting towed or jacked up, the alarm goes off and it pages me. My 850's alarm has 4 pain generators inside and 3 multi-tone 130 db sirens outside. Plus a back-up battery so if you remove the battery terminals, it still continues. Even if I don't come running, they are not going to want to hang around long enough to do anything.

  10. Thats actually not a bad idea.

but the lugs have many reasons behind them.

If they're for anything other than "locking" your wheels on, go for it. Locking lugs are way too easy to remove, gives people a sense of security fail.

Both my modded cars have pagers. They are great to have.
