so I went to subway for my lunch break... like I do everyday and as I was paying I noticed that one of the guys that works there put a hamburger in the microwave to heat up for his lunch. Well he puts it in and presses the time and walks away... well out the corner of my eye I see it is catching on fire! he left the foil wrapper on the burger! the whole thing ignites and I go... "uhh your microwave is on fire" next thing the guy tips it over and it breaks on the ground on fire... hahaha stupid SE DC people

Bored much? Why I hate McAfee:

> Thank you for contacting McAfee Consumer Support. How can I help you?

-GeorgeV: Hi Reid, my name is George and I would be assisting you from here on.

-Customer: Ok.

-GeorgeV: Reid, could you please elaborate the issue so that I can help you?

-Customer: I constantly receive the crash messages from windows saying "McAfee has encountered an error and needs to shut down"

-Customer: sometimes it will happen in succession up to 10 times

-GeorgeV: To confirm, you are getting a message from McAfee SecurityCenter that it has encountered a problem and needs to close. Is that correct?

-Customer: no it's a message from windows saying it needs to close

-GeorgeV: Reid, I am happy to assist you with this issue. In order to assist you in a better way, I would like to gather basic technical information about your computer. For this I would send you a link. Please click on "YES" to provide me with this information. Shall I proceed?

-Customer: Why not...

> representative GeorgeV has requested system information from customer Customer.

> customer Customer has sent system information to representative GeorgeV.

-Customer: i have even tried using your auto fix program (twice) and it hasn't solved the issue

-GeorgeV: Thank you for the system information. Reid, could you please let me know how do you currently connect to the Internet? (Dial-up, DSL, Cable, or Wireless)

-Customer: DSL

-GeorgeV: Thank you for the information. Reid, for this issue I request you to reinstall your McAfee products. For that I will send you a mail in which you can find the uninstallation steps for your McAfee. After uninstalling your McAfee products please restart your computer. After the restart please go to "Start" -> "Search" and search for the files and folders with the name "mcafee" and delete all the files and folders that is detected. After that login to your McAfee account and download and install your McAfee products back. It will solve the issue.

-GeorgeV: For sending the McAfee uninstallation steps may I confirm your e-mail address as [email address]?

-Customer: yup

-GeorgeV: The mail has been send to [email address].

-Customer: also, McAfee seems to always be slowing my computer down as well

-GeorgeV: Reid, it is because you are having third party software like "Ad-Aware 2007", "Trillian" installed in your computer. Please do remove those programs before reinstalling your McAfee products. It will solve the issue.

-Customer: I have had those on my computer since it was built

-Customer: this problem didn't start until i installed McAfee

-GeorgeV: Reid, McAfee is not compatible with those programs and the issue may be a result of that conflict.

-Customer: Ad-Aware doesn't even run unless I open it! And Trillian is rarely on!

-Customer: Regardless, what should I do if this whole reinstallation doesn't work?

-GeorgeV: Reid, reinstalling the McAfee products after removing those programs will solve this issue.

-Customer: Okay but what if it doesn't? I don't want to go through this crap again.

-Customer: I'm far to busy to dick with a software that works only when it wants to

-Customer: And i need this software to protect my computer

-GeorgeV: Reid, do not worry. Reinstalling will resolve this issue. And also please do the following steps to delete the temporary internet files and folders in your computer:

-GeorgeV: 1. Click Start

2. Select Run

[blah blah blah]

Customer: Okay and your name is George. What was this request number again for reference?

-GeorgeV: Reid, in case if you need any further assistance please do contact us back with the request number.

-Customer: which is...

-GeorgeV: The request number for our chat session is 484570-159385617.

-GeorgeV: Reid, Is there anything else I can assist you with today?

-Customer: baller. Nope.

-GeorgeV: Reid, you may receive a survey from McAfee in the next couple of days that will give you an opportunity to provide feedback on the support Ive offered. This information will be used to further improve our support. You may end this chat at your convenience.

-GeorgeV: Thank you for contacting the McAfee Technical Support. Have a great day!!

-Customer: duce

My dumb ass decided to give McAfee the benefit of the doubt thinking they might have fixed some of their issues from the past. Wish I went with Kaspersky...<_<

AVG is money. I have tried Norton (too much of a resource hog although it was good back in the day), McAffee (didnt find any viruses or update definitions even though there were viruses and new definitions) and now AVG. So far Ive have no problems and it runs quietly in the background.
