PyROTech
ok, the reason i asked was i wanted to use the phone on Rogers (a canadian gsm provider), and would the same functions work with them, i know if unlocked the actually calling would work, but in terms of other features.and you quoted ngame, "The Storm uses the same technology as the 8830 World Edition, which has a Sim slot as well as CDMA hardware. When you take the phone abroad (where a CDMA signal is unavailable) or when the phone is unlocked, the phone will look for the GSM signal instead." it says where cdma signal is not available, but what if it is but with another carrier, can i set it to not look for the cdma and only use the gsm? Chrisonfire
I know there its stated clearly that it can be unlocked to work on GSM networks, but you can unlock it and use on another CDMA network such as sprint?

prasamin
this is going to help me decide whether to bid or not in the next 5 hours or so.....is there a sprint version of this phone that can be unlocked to GSM networks.essentially, it would be cool if I could use a phone at home on CDMA with my sprint phone number, and use the same phone abroad with my Vodafone sim card.you said you can switch between CDMA and GSM, so if it is unlocked, is it as simple as Sprint having the serial number of the phone so that my phone number is programmed to the CDMA side, and then whenever I go out of country, I can just hit GSM and pop in any sim i want to and use it, without having to reprogram or anything....i know yours is verizon, but I'd like to know the answer to this.... I'd still like to know about the Sprint PCS compatibility...How are the keys pressed...i mean, is it touch screen like the iphone where it senses the heat or whatever, or is it actually something where you have to depress the screen and there is some sort of button behind it that senses the pressure?
