I tried using the old seal. Do you have any tips? Its weird, the XC is such a pain to work on. Its kind of different from any s70 or 850 I've ever worked on. The jobs are usually a lot harder/more difficult because of all the extra shit in the way. On my car the axle seals were really easy to get in. The XC, not the case :(

I used a socket that matched up to the size of the seal, and hit that with a hammer. After it held on its own, just made sure it was even, with some light tapping with just the hammer. Hopefully this helps!

Edit: I'm sure some of you know how much of a PITA it is working on a high mileage car that sat for a while. Especially with busted axles on both sides. Read: CV grease EVERYWHERE. I even had to go out and buy a $90 3/4" wrench to get the axle nuts off each side. I busted 2 breaker bars trying to take them off!

Powertools are you friend. 710lb/ft of torque.
