Fudge_Brownie
There's a lot of voodoo and "everyone says do this" unverifiable suggestions on how to maintain/obtain good credit, but it sounds like you're basically doing things right. Moving things to a zero interest card will help you get things paid off quicker and work towards debt-free. Sounds good to me. Some people say canceling cards wacks your credit, some say opening one does (because of the credit check, based on the idea that each credit check dings your credit). It's also said that too much available credit, like a high line of credit on a card, or a cumulative high line of credit across multiple cards can hurt you as well in the fear that you can get in trouble real fast. I hear ya, I just try to practice the above things in my previous post and take my fiance's advice. She seems to have a handle on things, we are 25 and she's had her mortgage for about 4 years now. The card I closed really was stuff, I got it when I was very young for the ability to see my credit score every month. Along with it came a 24.9% APR? and they even charge you 5 dollars to make a payment straight from their website. That being said I have always used billpay through my bank to make payments. But that one is gone now so yeah.

Smithwicks
Obama flew into Milwaukee today and since our job site is on the highway right by the airport we got shut down for about 4 hours along with all of the southbound traffic on I-94 while he went through. it was cool to see the huge caravan just go flying down the highway. 1
