ErikS
Those people see the future. The future of America is again hard to quantify, especially if it hinges on race. Would not be surprised to see a very catholic and Hispanic president by 2020 or just past that. No matter your language, race, ethnicity or class, its always about they way things were, and how others have changed that within the last generation, because they are not like you. Humanity, get use to it. Always changing.

I hate him because he is a socialist and he is ruining our country. 2

I hate him because he is a socialist and he is ruining our country. That's the elephant in the room. Race matters because we are visual. Better to talk about it than ignore it. Obama being black 100% had to do with his reelection, a white incumbent with the same policies and same record with the same message for the future would have lost to Romney, right? That's a great discussion to have, and how the definition of America and its political system will progress.

Burn-E
I only agree with you Erik not because I think he was given a pass for being black. I agree because black pride (he's one of us) was a contributing factor to why many Aftican Americans voted for him. And white shame caused a significant enough percentage of white liberals to vote for him. If Romney were black or Latino given his Mexican heritage this would have been a different election. That's the elephant in the room. Race matters because we are visual. Better to talk about it than ignore it. flyfishing3
I know lots of people in W Pa . That do receive some sort of govt assistance but would not vote for BO BECAUSE of skin color Many just refer to him as ""THE MUSLEM"" here.
Burn-E
Who knows, it's possible. Then again, Romney took an extreme position on immigration during the Primaries that made it virtually impossible for him to shift back to the middle on that issue and garner any real latino support. I think Romney was entirely electable - he just shot himself in the foot too many times. Like Matt said earlier. I know lots of people in W Pa . That do receive some sort of govt assistance but would not vote for BO BECAUSE of skin color Many just refer to him as ""THE MUSLEM"" here. True, it cuts both ways. Skin color, heritage, last name - they all are contributing factors to why some people voted for him and why others did not. Some people in this country still are barely dragging their knuckles up off the ground when it comes to racist attitudes.
flyfishing3
I think VP choice did little other than whipping up the base. I don't believe Rubio would of changed a single vote What's interesting is if the REP run a full Latin for pres, will that person auto get Latin vote
