no mine is a dual vvt head

right - but if his isn't, the cam cover won't have the oil passages to the hub. I wouldn't run the VVT hub with no oil, even if you're not activating the VVT for timing control. So, if his is single VVT, just get the intake cam & gear with the head. Cam cover has to go with the head, they are NOT interchangable.

ONLY difference is whether the holes & galleys are drilled/machined for dual VVT. Dual VVT intake cam will fit on non-(dual) VVT intake spot, BUT as I said, it won't be feed any oil. May not be a problem, but not something I'd risk. Easier to use non-VVT intake cam & be safe.

THIS ONLY applies to RN heads!. C30, V50, V40 RNC heads and cams from the same year ('04-'05) are completely different!

Well since his is dual VVT, as is mine there shouldn't be a problem.
None at all. You don't need his cams. You do need the cam cover.

Edit: make sure wadding is packed in the cam cover to prevent the shim buckets moving. You won't need to adjust the valves as long as all the shim buckets have not been moved!

  • 3 weeks later...

on a pre me7 rail? one is a jic fitting i believe not sure the size and the return is the fpr which is just an oring in a hole...

just take the fuel lines and rail to a hydrolic shop and tell them you want a braided line with those fittings, thats the easy way....

I'm thinking about making a new hard line in 3/8" for over the motor. Did anyone figure out what the stock fittings actually are?
