Dick Dastardly
lifetime shitty alignments at firestone by guys who barely know how to use an alignment rack. Always a good deal.
Black Betty
lifetime shitty alignments at firestone by guys who barely know how to use an alignment rack. Always a good deal. Yeah I posted this same thing in the R forum when Rob had issues. I worked at NTB in college. The first alignment is done by a high level tech, but each one after is normally done by a lube/tire tech. It comes down to the lube tech makes more money on the warranty alignment vs the higher level tech. I personally had no on the job training but I also had ~3 years experience at other shops. Your best bet is to watch the alignment and make sure they are actually doing the work and not just tapping the sensors into place.

Fudge_Brownie
I won't disagree with the guys talking about the alignment jobs. But I will say that I've had good luck with my local Firestone and a lifetime alignment purchase. They seem to have a quality staff, and I go there for tires and alignments. I think it's been 3 years of alignments solely through them (so maybe ~60k?). My tires wear evenly. They do wear a little quicker than I'd like, but I think that has to do with the type of tire I'm using and my driving habits. The only minor wear patterns I've seen have been from the alignment being out, and me not caring because the tires were nearing the wear-bars anyway. That is how i did my custom tune with him. he will get back to you. He is on Fkbook also. Does he do tunes on the 2004-2007 R's ? I'm getting a pitiful 19 mpg on the highway with my current tune and I'm ready to have something solid, from a decent tuner.

Fudge_Brownie
Brand loyalty is fucking dumb.It is. But I'm curious what inspired your post? Blind loyalty to the Volvo brand? Or something else?
