And it looked like the rider was lane splitting (safe when done right, and legal for a long time in California, but hated in the rest of the 49 US states) traveling with too high a delta between the rest of traffic. Call me an armchair quarter back, but it seems like if he'd been paying attention, he could have saved it without needing super-human skills.
