Commander Riker
I like your car. When I see your videos... it sounds like your car is rocket powered.
Scvolvo
Nice car, but slightly off topic, the wheels you have in the first post are they standard wheels? I had a set the same on my 2000 v70r, but thought they were aftermarket so fitted some 18 pegs as i prefer them. I hadn't seen v70r 2000's with anything other than 16 or 17 saturns. They're OEM Volvo 16" Solar wheels. Quite rare to find V70Rs on factory 17" Comets or Satellites in North America.
Scvolvo
Thanks, thats what i meant satellites lol, over here its odd if they don't have the satellites, but we only got 73 2000 v70r's and about 50 left now, so they are just rare now. floggingmike
Have you daily driven it with the exhaust like that?
andyb5
Nice build thread Andy, you've got some nice mods there.Thank you Craig!I like your car. When I see your videos... it sounds like your car is rocket powered. Thanks Lucas I need to get ahold of a real GoPro so the sound isn't just static! And your M66/RN swap is a definite inspiration for me going forward here.Nice car, but slightly off topic, the wheels you have in the first post are they standard wheels?I had a set the same on my 2000 v70r, but thought they were aftermarket so fitted some 18 pegs as i prefer them. I hadn't seen v70r 2000's with anything other than 16 or 17 saturns.Yeah, as Quicksilver said, they are the factory wheels. They were fitted to 1999 models, at least here stateside the 2000 models only got 16" or 17" Satellites.Have you daily driven it with the exhaust like that?Yup but only for a few weeks at a time here at school in NY. My parents really didn't like it when I was home for Thanksgiving break with it like that. I got banished to parking at the end of our driveway while I was home. So now when I go home the mufflers go back on.Actually it isn't as loud as you'd think, I got pulled over for speeding and the police officer thought it was the factory exhaust

Ill probably be putting a cutout on my car after the cat soon, itll be nice to have just a switch to open and close it instead of having to get under the car. andyb5
Woah so I guess I'm a little overdue for an update here. Lets see what I've missed in the last year or so Winter of 2013/14 I plasti-dipped my wheels black, and did my best to stuff them full of snow while drifting any chance I got.Blew up an axle doing donuts This allowed me to drive around in RWD for a couple weeks. That was fun, over-steer everywhere! Fixed that, got back to autocrossing in the spring of 2014(That's me, pretending to be The Stig) Went to my first Carlisle, had a blast and can't wait for this year's show! Got a Tomcat lip, love the way it looksAdded some Rally Armor mudflaps, they do a great job in keeping the sides of the car cleanBought and sold a 98 AWD. Spent some time fixing it up, and now my friend owns it, and I still see it on a near-weekly basis. Back to my wagon. Rolled the fenders, no more rubbing Got a hitch installed, and picked up a 99 NA for partsHate 'em if you want, but Nivo's do work well. This picture is taken while towing the NA with 3 people in the car and tools in the back. Apparently I have a thing for silver V70s....!(R is in the foreground, 98 AWD is in front of it, NA parts car on the side) Spent a couple weeks chasing my tail on a no-start condition which eventually left me stranded on the side of the highway at night. Long story short, the wiring inside the factory fuel pump connector had a short in it, causing the fuel pump to only turn on sometimes. However, I didn't discover this until after I'd dropped the entire rear end, replaced the fuel pump and level sender. New OEM level sender on the drivers sideDeatschWerks DW300 (top) installed in place of the OEM pump (bottom). That should provide more than enough fuel flow for my current and future power levels.Fuel lines were a rusty disgrace, and leaking in a couple spots. So I removed all the fittings from the stock lines, and replaced the rusty stock crap with new 5/16" nylon lines. Toss all that in the trash OEM fittings going back into the new lines All that combined with new wiring is much better than how I found it. Winter mode 2014/15 - NA bumper/headlights, silver STi wheels, OEM ski box, and lots of opposite lock Finally made some progress on modifying this heap. Got 996TT calipers with custom brackets (thanks Timo!!!!) S60 R rotors, Porterfield R4S pads installed about a month ago. Here are the brackets I designed and Timo machined for me with a 3D printed prototype prior to install. They barely fit inside my wheels, but they do fit. Sorry for all the iPotato pictures. Once it's nicer out/stops snowing I'll get the wagon cleaned up and take a couple better pictures. That's about where it is today, but I've got a few major updates coming soon. Odo is currently at 180,xxx miles. In all, I've put 30,000 miles on it in the 3+ years I've owned it thus far. I have an M66 from an 06 S40 Semir and I parted out and am working on acquiring the rest of the needed parts for the swap. Hoping to have that done before Carlisle, but I'm not gonna make any promises due to my schedule. Also have some other goodies planned, but those will be kept closer to the vest until I get around to finishing them up. I guess now this can finally become a "build thread" instead of a "andy shares pictures of his wagon" thread
Timbo Slice
Nice progress man, digging the wagon and all that you've got planned for it! Keep me updated, but it sounds like I'll be meeting up with you at Carlisle again this year if all goes well
Modman
Timbo should've made a few sets of those brackets. I would've brought a set. Tommy.
Looks great Andy we will have to discuss mudflaps and mounting on them. Really like the look they give on the wagons. Brakes are awesome!!

tuner4life
How did it do pulling the other car on a dolly? I've considered using our 850 as an occasional tow vehicle, but curious how it would handle it.
