lookforjoe
Where'd you purchase the angle gear and axle? i cringe at the thought of the costFrom my neighborhood Volvo dealer. No shipping costs, and I get wholesale pricing. Still, around $1350 for the AG, and $350 for the axle. Both items have core charges, so I took mine in with me. Had to also replace the Spec PP that I had previously used, the heavy slippage I had with the KM flywheel cooked it pretty good. There is about .020" warpage in the center. Simply Volvo
Looking great!Definitely going to be doing something similar to you with the 4in intake. I want to run 4in pipe, since my inlet is 4in as well.Hows the SS LG Speed Manifold holding up? Looks like some corrosion going on near the head flange? Maybe just the lighting? With this version of the header, it's put mine closer than it wasmodding the heater elbows was necessary, even if I had left the 3.5" lower section, the lines were getting hammered under acceleration. There does seem to be some surface action on the headers, but it's not an issue, I think. Perhaps I'll email Lars about it...

lookforjoe
Awesome job H! I should be back playing with my 850t this fall.Cheers TGood to hear, I was wondering what was up with yours. I'm trying to setup for LS9 coils, since the LS2/ D585 just didn't work out. If you have any tuning info on the dwell maps that were used with you last setup, it would be awesome Finishing up my X1/9 HG job, so next week I plan to do the Spec clutch install in the wagon. fyrken
What is the reason for not using Volvo coils?

Thanks for the documentation about your heater elbow modifications. I have to do the same as my EFR 7064 compressor housing is also very close to the elbows and the lower one doesn't fit anymore in stock shape. With no COP diagnostics in M4.4, there is no way to tell WHICH pack has failed without swapping them all out, and then swapping them back one at a time to find the bad one. Not fun. Tightmopedman9
I'm not really sure why you have so much trouble with your ignition coils. I've never burned up a stock coil nor have I had any customers do so. I'm almost done with my ls2 coil setup which I should be switching to tomorrow or the day after. I've never burned up a stock coil nor have I had any customers do so. I'm almost done with my ls2 coil setup which I should be switching to tomorrow or the day after.I have no idea at this point. I've replaced the coils harness, different ECU's, etc. Problem has crossed over regardless. Not specific to any given cylinder. The last thing I did, was to eliminate a harness connector I had for switching between TTCOP & onboard cop, since that was not necessary any more. If that was indeed causing a problem with the signal that was leading to coil failure, then the problem should be gone. I won't know for awhile in that case.Problem exists over 21psi on my turbo. Under that, they hold up fine.
Midnight Caller
H, what dwell time are you using over 20 PSI ? Maybe it's too long and overheats the coils ?
fyrken
Wierd with the coils. We use them above 3 bar boost with NGK race plugs and it works great (we did damage some when we had the wiring done wrong with 12 V @ ignition on).

We use them above 3 bar boost with NGK race plugs and it works great (we did damage some when we had the wiring done wrong with 12 V @ ignition on).Yeah, I know others use them successfully with other EMS. All I can say is they don't hold up for me using Motronic 4.4 with onboard COP. Edited July 28, 2015 by lookforjoe
