There have been some serious changes in our policies regarding how we handle mentally ill people, and how those systems were basically shut down. We turned our back on mental institutions meant to help people... which got them defunded and those people were turned out into society. I've never seen a gun shoot someone without an operator. Psychosis is not exclusive to North America. Suicide is not only a wasp problem.People have deficiencies around the globe. They're not claiming those problems are unique to US, they're saying the way we handle them is. Therefore, the problems are more common or more apparent.
