venderbroeck
You did, it was about the payment up front. Probably a good idea to mention that in my post :P @ wesdunn: Well that's a good question. This thing just sort of grew out of my post in this thread, so I never considered putting something there. Maybe if this all goes according to plan I will do that if that is permitted by the forum rules. For now, this is already a lot of building for me to do though, so I think I have to wait until I finish these first. Also Bob82pigdog has volunteered to act as the distribution point in the US. I'm already in the process of constructing a defloater for him atm, so I merged him into the groupbuy as well. Wesdunns70t5m
I'm sure once all of us get them installed and start praising them, a lot more people will be on board. 1

venderbroeck
The parts arrived today. After unpacking them I had a slight "what have I gotten myself into this time" moment. No going back now though, so it's construction time. I did have to order grey boxes in stead of black ones, as the black ones where out. Hopefully nobody minds too much. It should be hidden in the engine compartment anyway, so it shouldn't be too bad. edit: Does anyone want COP capability btw? I can make the following versions: -COP compatible only -single coil compatible only -COP & single coil compatibility switchable by repurposed on/off switch Edited February 4, 2016 by venderbroeck

Brad850
Can you explain these to the slow lay person? I know it has something to do with ignition and timing but I don't even know where to begin researching to figure out how that would be useful to me now, or in the future. venderbroeck
Single coil is what the car came with from factory, just a single coil, and a rotor + cap. Aaron (tmm9) has developed "coil on plug" functionality for m44. This way the single coil and the rotor + cap gets replaced by 5 coils directly on the spark plugs, like with the newer me7 cars. The defloater needs to measure rpm via the ignition coil, but of course the signal from a single coil setup and one of the coils from a cop setup differs by a factor of 5. I can program the defloater to accept one of the two signals, or I can repurpose the on/off switch to switch between the two. venderbroeck
Alright so a little update on the process. After a day of building the following has been done: -sort all parts & check for completeness. -expose, develop & etch pcb's -cut all wiring to length -mark all enclosures for drilling Here's what I ended up with (pic is a little hazy): Tomorrow I will be cutting the pcb's to size, drilling them and soldering on the electronics. Also I will be drilling holes in the enclosures. I hope to finish up the defloaters electronics wise by tomorrow evening, and maybe even get them wired as well. There's one little setback though, the guy I normally order the plugs from isn't able to deliver until 11 februari. I'm going to look if there's another viable source, but worst case scenario I wont be able to complete the defloaters until then. It's a lot of work, and there's still plenty of work left, but that's it for now. More to come tomorrow. Wesdunns70t5m
Are you saying this can be a defloater, and can also be used to convert to COP, or do you mean that the defloater is compatible with single coil or COP, and we've got to let you know what were running? im in the early stages of a swap/engine build, and only have the engine. I don't plan on finishing anytime soon, so my order can be shifted to the bottom of the priority list of that'll help you
venderbroeck
The latter. It is about compatibility, and it can be made to work with cop, or single coil. Alternatively, I can make it switchable by repurposing the on/off switch. No worries, I'm building the defloaters in parallel, so they will all be finished at the same time. Wesdunns70t5m
Ok that's what I thought, but wasn't sure. I'd like mine to be switchable also
