Also, any recommendations for tires these days for summer performance? Looking to stick around $600 for a set of tires if I can get away with it, but don't want to replace them in 20k (I looked at Cooper RS3-S's but treadwear is terrible). Michelin Pilot supersports or Bridgestone RE-11A

Timbo Slice
I'm looking at the PSS's, but can't seem to find them for much less than $800/set.
caanglin
V12 Evo 2's give you 90% of the performance for 70% of the price. Edited March 17, 2016 by fivex84
Timbo Slice
I've always wondered about those tires ever since they came out, though I always have gone with Cooper for some reason. Maybe this is the time I give the V12s a try, the price point certainly is exciting. Just don't want something that won't offer much protection for my barrels. Fudge_Brownie
I feel like a broken record with this one, but Conti DW for daily driver. Not crazy expensive, ride isn't too stiff (reviews ding it for that performance wise, but it's a +1 in the rough road score card), and wear is decent too.
Timbo Slice
It's not for a daily driver, rather more along the lines of Friday, Saturday, Sunday nice weather car. Although I still want it to be comfortable. I see a lot of people here talk about Continental and mention both DW and DWS.
Brad850
Super sports are comfy. On 17's at least. They feel really good.
Timbo Slice
I think I'm going to give the V12 EVO2's a shot, just to put that curiosity in my mind to rest. If I don't like them, I'll go with the PSS's on the next set.

On my 3rd set, my only comment is that the wear can be fairly quick depending on driving style.
RBoy8
I've got DWS on my Volans and I really like them. They're super comfy but have a softer sidewall/feel. They actually make the ride of the IPD springs just a little bit more bearable over bumps.

ruecatinat
The V12s are a great tire for the price but I noticed they had a bit of a softer sidewall. I've tried them on an 01' Mini Cooper S Works, 2008 GTI and S2000 FYI The Conti DWs are basically a German PSS - cheaper and better wear. There's a BMW in my underground with a set of PSS up front, DW in the back...can't tell the difference visually unless you go up and look lol. If I had the choice I'd go Continental. I've seen two coworkers tear through a set of PSS (Volvo XC60 R Design w/Polestar, Golf R) in less than 2 seasons.
Timbo Slice
Softer sidewall may be okay. I'm done with driving on the bone crunching suspension of ipd springs/shitty coilovers so softer sidewalls may aid in that comfort.
Brad850
The handling improvement IPD springs provide isn't even close to making up for the bone crunching.
