F refers to the new F chassis, whereas the older cars have the E chassis. i cars (i3, i8) have an i prefix for the chassis IE F30 is 3-series, F10 is 5-series, F15 is X5. next gen cars with the carbon-core are G chassis, so the new 2016 7 series is a G12 chassis. Idk what to do as far as getting the case back off but I'm sure you can pick up a full kit on Amazon for pennies. Idk why threads are getting archived so quickly these days.
