ya, look the stupid us economy got better and the canadian dollar went down and i had to pay an extra 100 bucks on my laptop due to exhancge rates. Ok, canadians arent saints, ya people hate us too. No we dont support the war in iraq and dont have military troops in iraq either. No we dont support weapons of mass drestruction, but we wanted to wait for inspectors and use violence as a last resort. Fine you will argue that the inspectors dont do anyhthing and werent powerfull enough, its just that iraq possed no threat to canada. We did help out in afganastan "sp?" but that was b/c your reasoning was to attack a person that attacked you first, not afganastan itself but who ever attacked world trade center! And the worst thing for canada in afhganastanbvfsdgdfag was that we didnt have proper camo "we looked like green christmas trees in a destert" .

You wanted to wait for the inspectors?!?! If that was the case we would still be waiting! We would be playing a cat and mouse chase for ever with Sadaam! Mean while, the people of Iraq would be living in a opressed country and Sadaams nut bag sons would be goind around killing people when ever they want!

Since when is it our fault that you had to pay a 100bucks more for a friggin lap top?

afhganastanbvfsdgdfag

They're not much better off now. (And I'm not saying we shouldn't have done anything, but you can't act like we've just gone and "fixed" Iraq.)

i was just agreeing with freeskier that it seems the us economy is getting better by me paying more for my laptop. the part on the end of afhanastand "the fag part" wasnt intentional, accident.

didn't even notice the fag part, i just thought it was funny and oooppsss, I thought you were complaining about the us economy! :)

I'm not sure where you get your news, but saying things aren't better is absolutely not true. How do I know? One of the guys in my department spent last year in IRAQ. The work they did for the people and the reception they got was unreal. You think getting rid of a dictator, torture chambers, two insane sons and restoring freedom isn't fixing Iraq? How about building schools and infrastructure? You can believe whatever crap the people who hate us or want to get elected spew, but to say Iraq is no better off is very ignorant. There is a long way to go, but Japan and Germany weren't fixed overnight either. We still have bases there as a matter of fact.

i am sick and tired of you calling everyone who isn't a republican ignorant.

when i stop seeing iraqi's wailing "where is allah" every night on the god darn evening news and then throwing their mangled babies into the back of trucks, things will be better.

like whats his face said, japan and germany took many hard tough years to rebuild (thanks to a VMI alum it was easier... George Catlett Marshal 1902 (think)) and there wasnt a gurreilla fight becease im sure after almost 7 years on the germans part theyd had enough, where as the iraq's didnt get the gradual beat down they needed..... they still keep fighting, they think were taking them over etc... i have lots of friends over there, the people have no idea why were there, they hate us partly because of all the lit saddam put out about us conquering them and making them all christians..... makes it tough :(

Thats cool, and I'm sick of you towing the Liberal line on everything with nothing other than your opinion to back yourself up. Though I shall point out a few things. 1) I'm not a republican. 2)Your statement is in itself ignorant because I didn't make an assertion about political parties. 3)Lots of what you see on the news is B.S. My highschool history teacher put it best when she said that most of the demonstrations you see happen on TV start when they turn on the cameras and quit when the cameras turn off. 4) I was pointing out that the information I got about rebuilding Iraq was coming from somebody who had boots on ground for a year or so. I'll take news from people who have been there. Not to mention even our news people are admiting things are better in Iraq. Like a tshirt I have says: "Freedom isn't free, Peace ain't pretty." We didn't win our freedom in this country by fighting a "sensative war." (Not this story for reference: http://www.newamericancentury.org/defense-20040805.htm) Neither did France, Germany or Russia. So what makes Iraq the miracle country that can gain their freedom from a ruthless dictator in a years time and not need any support?

Keep believing whatever makes you feel better.

All true on both sides. But what i like about canada is we can see the uncensored version of the news. Its not banned like many tv programs the states can not receive. Iraq isnt going to get any better the way things are going right now. Installing a government is like installing a peice of software that conflicts with other software, not all but some.

I didn't.

There is a long way to go...
That's all I was getting at. And who knows how we're going to get there when there's an endless supply of people willing to blow themselves up because they hate America and won't live under a government brought about by us. I have a friend over there in the Marines, so I know they're doing all the good public works stuff, don't get me wrong. I just think we're in a bad spot. Edited by swdracr
