Slater
Fixed! Yahoo wont let me linkI think us c70 owners may have to pull out our drill bits... the only spot that might be useful is that hanger on the wheel dam area...but i dont know if that spot has any integrity for the chassis to help the stiffen it. highres ---> http://www.photodump.com/direct/vcsvndhpt/IMG_1844.jpgNah, that little hook isn't good for anything. It would bend like a toothpick if you tried to mount a brace there.BTW, has your car ever been rearended and repaired? On the driver's side it looks like the seam sealer has been redone. You can see it best from the high-res shot. Just a random comment...

Slater
Good eye.I'm curious if I am right or not.Doesn't look like there is anything wrong with the fix (i.e. it looks done properly), it just doesn't look factory.

You can see it best from the high-res shot. Just a random comment...You mean there??During my ownership of it, no. But the car was bought in an auction with a clean CarFAx history. Later on, i've gradually noticed more and more evidence of an accident, which at first just seemed to be the front bumpr repainted, and some minor things... Looking more, the rear bumper was repainted, and it doesnt align perfectly. As you noticed, i do think it was in somewhat of a more serious accident as the driver's side rear tire sits closer to the dam, then my passenger side, the plastic part that holds the volvo emblem is looser, etc. More evidence shows an accident damaging further areasGood Eye. You're right. Oh well, the car still holds up pretty well. minus the few parts that arent perfect, most people dont notice (i didnt when i bought it... ) PLus with all my makeshift repairs and other things falling apart from general age, i cant expect perfection As for that hook, i thought there is a nut in the center... i wasnt meaning the hook itself. Its been a while since i took off the trunk liner, and im not sure if i took any other shots to see that angle better. It was just a picture before i would never see that bare metal after i covered it in Jiffy Seal(as you see on the right). But anyhow, I'll leave that to the engineering brains to figure out a good and useful location. :)
cRRRRazy
the verts are worse than the coupes..but im sure if Slater finds somewhere to place it for the c70 vert, it'll give a little added help to the coupe too.i dunno where that brace may go though... here is a pic of what the stripped coupe trunk looks like...volvo makes a chassis brace for the c70 verts that straps along the middle of the car on bottom (kinda like an X), i wanted to try it on the coupe but never got around to doing it, maybe someone else wants to be the guinea pig and let us know ............................its available though from volvo

I believe it comes stock with all Verts, yet they still have problems.this was back in the Swedespeed days...
