HPTDoh
Airport Security I don't think its necessarily protected by the first amendment because its a private institution. But it is scary how 1984 it is.
Zappo
There are a lot of idiots in the world. Assuming people actually did call and complain about the shirt, do they actually believe a terroist would actually wear anything at all with Arabic on it?If it is a policy of Jet Blue, it should have been stated right away and it would have been resolved immediately. Changing his seat location means that Jet Blue profiled him and decided to move him as far from the cockpit as possible. They most likely asked for an air marshall to be on the flight. Mogatu'r
As a US Marine, I traveled with a Middle Eastern friend and Oh boy we had to go thru sooo much B$. Hey he's not the only one, ALL of my bosses are from the Middle East mainly Jordans, Iranians, when we flight together they go on their private plane. But one time we flew on the same flight and from the parking all the way to the gates ppl just kept staring and being disrespectful, but they just did not care at all! On time one of them said to me 'Juan, for my safety I'll let them do what they're doing.
Spoony
That's absolutly insane. I cannot believe that JetBlue was that uptight. He went through all of those security checks so it was apparent that he wasn't dangerous. But they put him through the checks just because of his arabic t-shirt!? And they made him change it!? I have an old shirt that has arabic on it, I think I'll wear it to the airport one day. And I'm pale as monkey, lets' see what the stuck up assholes have to say about that. Oreo931
I dont think what happened was necesarilly right, but that guy has big balls doing something like that. There is racial profiling for a reason, and if some guy is going to wear a shirt like that who happens to be muslim, he deserves to be profiled. The only thing that guy accomplished was starting a scene, talk about his "rights", and scare the shit out of a lot of people. I for one know that when I am about to get on a plane I look around for suspicious people...At this point I believe it is human nature, based on everything that happened its almost impossible not to think about it... RAzOR
"The Jet Blue woman was asking me again to end this problem by just putting on a new t-shirt,"Just put the T-shirt on dude. The first amendment does NOT mean you can say anything you want, whenever you want, however you want.So many claim it does. It DOES NOT.This poor guy just got caught up. Plus I think a nice rally with the the other 1000 shirt wearers through the DC Mall would be far a more effective use of his free speech than fighting some airport security workers and making John Q. Public very uneasy.

Racial profiling at an international airport of all places is about as stupid as you can get. Don't make me warn your suspicious ass.
