Account_Deleted_T5M
I think the reason why Inmotion was saying to run 91 was to help control Detonation/ or pre-ignition
TorqueSteer
If your going to get a performance ecu upgrade, keep in mind what it actually does to increase performance. Its definately going to advance your ignition timing, and most likely lean you out a bit, both which can create more power. Then keep in mind what octane rating actually is, the resistance to preignition. Both advancing your timing and leaning out your fuel mixture will cause an increase in likelyhood of detonation in hotter weather and more aggressive driving. If it were me, I wouldnt use 87 on a chipped car, except if its in the wintertime where you are going to have a cooler air intake charge and thereby reduce the chances of detonation and preignition under load. ToxicLemonade
when i run 87 i get misfiring at high RPM. when i run sweet 93 or 94 i dont. when i ran c-16 leaded race fuel i could tell a pretty big difference, but at 9 bucks a gallon its not possible. TorqueSteer
No offense, but Id put a significant amount of money down that you wont without the help of forced induction. Your talking 245-250ish hp crank to get 190 wheel. Stock is what, 160 crank? Lol, bet you i break 200hp 190hp with my ECU and other "useless" mods I'll be a LPT with no turbo

drinking940’s
Volvo book says to run 91 + for optimum performance, it also says you can run 87 but not sure about AKIMatt Puts 91 in his t-5, i put 89 in my 850 glt, i have done so for the past month now, runs great. I would putthe middle grade in it. speaking of octane tho, i was reading some guy put 100 octane in his , haha
