Cf Lip Replacement

Recommended Posts

So I finally bought a new CF lip to replace the one I destroyed. Lucky for me, since it was the last one on earth to have been sold. Yup, that's right....no more 70s series R bumper CF lips left. :D. I think I might be the first person to have two sets of both CF lips and and brows...

How destroyed is the old one? If it's just cracked in half with no major chunks gone I might be able to make a mold from it. Interested in selling it?

Lets just say the large piece of the earth that was in the highway took a chunk out of his oil pan also. I dont think there was much left to saw about the lip.

If that piece on the ground is long enough, I might be able to bond it with some epoxy and then mud over the gouging. It would look like ass, but might just be good enough to pull a mold from.

BTW, it may just be the picture, but it looks like their standard of quality is a little low, LOL.

Perhaps. I'll get you more detailed pictures so you can tell. Also, what makes you think the quality is bad? It's some of the best I've seen. Here are crappy pics from when I got the first set for christmas. Crappy pictures, cuz I got the camera the same day: http://www.stillframeentertainment.com/lip/

hmmm... first picture no brows... second picture with brows. Multiple shoots at the same spot?

Yup. That's one of my favorite spots. The shots there always seem to be better than anywhere else.

The wrap looks a bit hacked, but like I said, it may have just been the picture. Personally, if all I had to do was stretch some cloth over some glass and knew it would not be flush against something, I would take the time finish the wrap instead of leaving a 1/2 inch of glass hanging out in the breeze. Sure, the piece is low on the car, but not everyone's car stays as low as your particular car does. If they want to cut corners, they should wrap from the bottom up and hide their gap against the bumper. It's not a big deal for most customers, but it is part of creating a well rounded product.
