'98BRICK
I searched VS but to no avail. Is there more room for a FMIC behind an R bumper, and if so, how much more? I'm talking about the center inlet size, too. How do they compare? My center inlet is 18-23 in (bottom-top) wide and ~3 1/4 in high. It seems as if a 30 x 4 x 4 intercooler (odd size, I know) and necessary hoses/pipes would fit in my stock bumper with enough room to clear the fogs. Anybody have a picture of an R bumper with a tape measure? Any measurements? I'm looking to do a custom FMIC soon...not only with a LPT, but I'm also trying to keep the fogs. I plan to do a write up for X70 owners with stock bumpers and fogs if I am convinced to keep it...thanks much!
rynodyno312
Good luck fitting a 4" thick core. It's going to be tight.
BlackT5
I can take some measurements of the R bumper opening(s) tonight.. if nobody beats me to it.

Zulu
Kept stock fogs in my stock bumper, it was a little tight. Took them out in the end after both lenses cracked and HID ballast went bad.
Auburn T5
just don't buy a cheap intercooler and a smaller one like what I've got or maybe like what mark uses will fit behind either stock or R bumper.I didn't need to make any changes to anything to fit my bumper back on though I didn't measure the 180* bends coming from the intercooler correctly so they protrude out too far before turning back to the engine so I had to pull my fog lights and just put them on my wife's S70 so it wasn't a total wash. BlackT5
Did a quick measure this morning.. middle is 3" tall, 22.5 at the top and 18.5" at the bottom. The little side vents are 3.5" tall.. that's all I got. The middle section might slowly increase to 3.5" in height at the sides but I didn't measure that. Sounds like the two are about the same size... which is suprising because I had always thought the R bumper did have larger openings. Still worth the upgrade though, it looks 100X better.I had to hack a bit out of my bumper support to fit my IC, but you probably don't need one quite as big as mine. I'm using the Precision 600hp IC, I think a 350HP unit would fit great for height, but it is a bit shorter too so i'm not sure how that might affect piping fitament... probably would be fine though.http://www.precisionturbo.net/intercoolers...ategory_id=3013

Auburn T5
ahahah no those were used to hold it up. I bought a couple of little straight metal brackets with a hole in each end. each end got a bolt w/the little plastic insert lock nut to hold it in place. Very sturdy and didn't require welding so it's a quick removal if needed.
BlackT5
Looks great! I just had to hack the first little section of the support out and relocate the bolts for the shroud.I went for the stealth look.

hawks25
Drew, that looks great. Almost looks way too easy to install. You didn't have to cut the bumper support either? Does it hang lower than the bumper? Can you still put on the air guide?Awesome idea to paint it Mark. I had been thinking of the same.
BlackT5
Hey, it matches my black muffler. I couldn't fit the air guide or splash shield back on mine, I don't know about Drew. It was more to do with the piping than the size of the IC.
