Fudge_Brownie
A friend just installed a Blitzsafe Ipod adapter in his 96 850 with an SC-710 deck. He said that when he selects CD Changer, the audio will play. However the volume will not work. He said you have to switch to the radio (ie FM) in order to adjust the volume and then return to CD Changer.I have one of these hooked up to my SC-816 and it works perfectly, not like this. He is on his way over right now so I'll have a better description, but in the mean time I was wondering if anyone know of any differences between these decks or had heard of a problem like this. The decks both have the CD changer plug on the back, and I assume interface with a Cd Changer the same way, so I'm not sure the deck model should be an issue. This person from 2004 seems to have a similar problem http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showtopic=5252Edit: We swapped out his deck with my SC-816 and found out that the SC-710 deck was the problem. Does anyone know if the deck could have some bad hardware, or is this a problem with all the SC-710's? With the Sc-710, when you select CD-Changer, it says 1-00, then it should 'find' the adapter or changer, and say 1-99. Instead, his shows EEEE. It seems to not be able to recognize the blitzsafe adapter.

Fudge_Brownie
make sure the connections are done rightAww common, I don't come off that noobish do I? Besides, its not like its complicated. He spoke with blitzsafe the morning after, who is shipping him a new one asap. While we're still confused as to why my deck worked with his adapter and his didn't, Blitzsafe still felt it could be their product's issue. A+ for customer service. I'll update as I get info, but for now, still looking for input from those with the SC-710+Blitzsafe.
Fudge_Brownie
Update, he recieved the second unit. Seems to have the same problem, and through that and our testing using my deck, it would appear either:His deck specifically has an internal problem, or, that the SC-710 is not compatible.
