I have a complete set of 15" steelies that i want to widen to 9" There is a guy here that says he can widen them for $100.00 a wheel. Is this safe for track use?

I have no idea about widening wheels. Steel wheels like 45-55 bucks? Buy new? If not, stuff you can weld the hell out of steel. I would be concerned about warping the wheel under heat. Make sure they are true and they balance close, atleast. My2 good luck

Thanks for the Link! There is a guy in tallahassee.

Cool, hope it all works out...

Do you have more information and pictures about the shadow chrome paint? Is that the paint the BMW M3 or M5 had on their wheels some time ago? I know they were hell of expensive and nobody could refinish the wheels because no shop had the paint or even knew the technique because it was something like a secret of a small Italian company. At least that's what I heard of.

Do you have numbers (RAL or something like that) for the black and the hyper silver? I guess it shouldn't be that problem to get the paint here in Germany and tell a shop to do it like you said (first black, then 2 coats of hyper silver and clear coat in the end).

My comets need a new color and I like to have black, graphit or something like shadow chrome... ;)

Yes, BMW calls it Chromatic, mostly on the M5, but have done it on other BMW wheels too. There is a couple ways to do it. I like Black base caot, 3 coats clear (that gives you the shadow), then dust your Hyper silver paint. There is about 5 of us in Colorado that can paint that finish....well. When I started, my brain would let me paint the wheel black, to end up silver. looks cool

The paint is made by a company called Sikkens it is super exspensive.... $260 a qt.

You might go to the link i left for Mobilewheelrepair.com, and see if there is a franchisee locator in Germany.

I will get some pics.... I still cant get them to load on the thread????
